Accidentally entered 10 scores for the whole class, HCMC teacher gave a series of exercises throughout the summer vacation

In a letter sent to students on the last day of the school year, teacher Ngo Kim Hai gave students the following series of exercises:

"Currently, the entire class 6A6 is still missing a fourth column of regular test scores. However, the teacher "accidentally" entered a score of 10 for the entire class in that column. Therefore, please do the following homework and submit it to the teacher:

Exercise 1: Sit down once, hold your father's hands, look deeply into your mother's eyes, and understand that your parents work extremely hard to take care of you.

Exercise 2: Let your family hug you if your final results at the end of the first year of middle school are not as you expected.

Exercise 3: During the summer, don’t forget to learn an extra subject that you love (playing an instrument, singing, swimming, playing soccer, etc.). Get ready for a summer full of trips!

Exercise 4: In higher grades, and perhaps in life later on, if you encounter difficult exercises/problems, be confident that: you have done nearly 80 literature review questions in the 6th grade with Mr. Hai, so there is no difficulty that you cannot overcome! You must believe in yourself!

Exercise 5: Many years later, if we meet again somewhere, I will be happy to hear you boast that you are living happily, being kind and knowing how to share your happiness with everyone around you.

Exercise 6: One evening in your life, if you feel lonely or sad, remember the always happy literature lessons of class 6A6 in the 2024-2025 school year. Or if at any time you want someone to listen to your confidences that you cannot share with anyone, just call me, I am always here.

Time for submission: You will have plenty of time to complete these 6 homework assignments, so take your time. Because I know, there are assignments that will take you all your youth, maybe even your whole life, to complete.

Sharing with VietNamNet reporter, teacher Ngo Kim Hai said that instead of a traditional test, he sent students homework as a topic about life and maturity so that students can spend time contemplating and experiencing during the summer vacation.

"I decided to accidentally enter a score of 10 for the whole class because I have faith that my students will submit all their assignments," Mr. Hai said, emphasizing that he not only hopes but also believes that his students will submit all their assignments after the summer vacation of 2025.

The idea of assigning homework was thought of by Mr. Hai for quite a while. First, it came from watching a short video about a Japanese teacher who, in the last class of the school year, wrote on the board the words “Homework: Live happily and kindly”.

Second, around 2020, Mr. Hai learned that Mr. Do Duc Anh (Bui Thi Xuan High School, District 1) also gave his students very interesting and touching "homework". Later, Mr. Hai texted and asked Mr. Duc Anh for permission to borrow the idea to make homework for his students.
