In the context of the policy of reducing registration fees for assembled cars that has not been issued, the automobile market in June continued to fall into a stagnant period. According to statistics from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and TC Motor, the total number of consumed cars increased by only 1.3% compared to May, reaching 27,043 units.
On the list of 10 best-selling products on the market, most of the names on the list recorded growth in consumption in June; only 3 models decreased, including Mitsubishi Xpander. This MPV model, which was the most "attractive" last month, could only drop to 3rd place, with sales down 30%.
The two remaining products that recorded declining sales results were the Ford Ranger and Toyota Yaris Cross. Of these, the pickup truck from the American brand rose to the number 1 position, while the Yaris Cross lost its leading position in the B-size SUV segment to the Mitsubishi Xforce.
Notably, the Toyota Corolla Cross suddenly disappeared from the list of best-selling cars in June. In the previous month, this model was the best-selling car in the B and B+ SUV segment, even surpassing the Mazda CX-5.
Also falling out of the list of best-selling cars with Corolla Cross is Toyota Veloz Cross. Instead, Ford Territory and Hyundai Creta returned after many months of "absence".
Vietnamese customers' tastes remain the same, focusing on high-chassis cars with only 2 low-chassis sedan models appearing on the list. Japanese cars still dominate with 5 names appearing, American cars increase their recognition with the appearance of 3 products, and finally Korean cars have only 2 representative faces.
The "balance" of imported and assembled cars has not changed, the corresponding number of cars is still 5 and 5.
