Loc Ninh: Tornado causes damage of over 1.3 billion VND

BPO - On the afternoon of April 14, a representative of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Loc Ninh district said that at around 4:00 p.m. on April 13, in Loc Ninh district, there was rain accompanied by a tornado, causing a lot of damage to the property of households in the area.

The tornado caused 7 houses in Loc Ninh district to have their roofs blown off from 30% to 100%.

The tornado caused 7 houses of many households in the communes to have their roofs blown off by 30% or more. Among them, Loc Hung (2 houses), Loc Hiep (1 house), Loc Tan (2 houses) and Loc An (2 houses). The tornado also damaged about 6.5 hectares of durian, causing over 24.5 tons of young fruit to fall from households in Loc Thai, Loc An, Loc Hoa communes and Loc Ninh town. The most serious damage was to Mr. Tran Van Be Sau's household, Hamlet 2, Loc An commune, with over 10 tons of fruit. The total damage caused by the tornado in the whole district is estimated at over 1.3 billion VND.

In the communes, the tornado also caused the loss of more than 24.5 tons of young durian.

After the natural disaster occurred, the People's Committee of Loc Ninh district directed the Standing Committee of the District's Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes to continue to grasp the situation, inspect, and use local forces to guide and promptly support to overcome the consequences, helping people to soon stabilize their lives.
