On September 2, 1969, President Ho Chi Minh passed away, leaving behind endless sorrow for our entire Party, people and army. Many songs by musicians about him were written at that time with the main theme of remembrance. But there was one song that was not among them.

That is the song "Uncle Ho is marching with us" by musician Huy Thuc.

Written right after President Ho Chi Minh passed away, musician Huy Thuc chose a different path in the march form to turn grief into action. The whole country marched to the battlefield to fulfill Uncle Ho's burning wish to unify the North and South, bringing the country back into one.

Just a song of praise, born in a special context, but the inspiration "Uncle is marching with us" has spread to become a great inspiration for the whole country to go to war: " For independence and freedom, we are determined to win prosperity/Win the spring/Beloved Uncle is marching with us ".

That great inspiration has been with us, becoming a support and motivation through many years, including the most fierce and difficult years of fighting, building peace, overcoming embargoes, and innovating so that the country can keep pace with the times.

And the spirit of "Uncle Ho is still marching with us" as the title of the latest article by General Secretary To Lam is like an affirmation that our Party and our country will always follow the path that President Ho Chi Minh chose.

That is the path of peace, independence, freedom, strength and development. That is Uncle Ho's burning wish, the expectation of many generations of fathers and brothers who came before.

May is coming, Uncle Ho is still with us

When giving the title “Uncle Ho is still marching with us” to the article on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the name, career and life of President Ho Chi Minh are not only a great and heroic past, but also a vibrant present and a bright future.

“ We need to learn from Uncle Ho every day, from big to small things, learning at the ideal level but also learning in every behavior, every specific action. Learning from Uncle Ho to live with ideals, discipline, love, responsibility, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility for the common good. Learning from Uncle Ho is not to praise him in a formal way, but to add more faith, motivation, and courage to the cause of building the country today ,” the General Secretary affirmed in the article.

That is the spiritual continuity affirmed by General Secretary Le Duan at the memorial service for Uncle Ho at Ba Dinh Square on September 9, 1969: “ We still feel that he is always by our side. Because we still follow his path, continuing his great career. Because he still lives forever with the country, his name and image are increasingly engraved in the hearts and minds of each of us .”

History has strangely converging points. This year marks the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, which is also a pivotal year for the country to enter a new era, an era of national development. The country is preparing a great mindset, great internal strength, and great confidence for the period of national development "over the past ten days" as Uncle Ho wrote in his Testament.

That is also the great march of the country, a march not only to overcome the current difficulties and challenges but also to establish a new position for the country with a sustainable economic development and a position of deep integration.

The image of a march is the image of advancement, of fighting and the desire for victory. That is the most complete way to pay tribute to Him, the genius leader, the national liberation hero, the outstanding cultural figure, who devoted his whole life to the people, to the country, to the future of countless generations in the 79 spring march of his life.

And as a final note, here are the words of the late Cuban leader Fidel Castro Ruz, spoken right after President Ho Chi Minh passed away: " Comrade Ho Chi Minh belongs to a special class of people whose death sows the seeds of life, forever immortal!"

“We vow to follow the revolutionary path that the Party and Uncle Ho have chosen, determined to build a prosperous and happy Vietnam, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers, worthy of the great contributions of our beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
