With this economic growth rate , Long An ranked 5th out of 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta. This is the highest economic growth rate in the first quarter from 2021 to present, proving that the province's economy is recovering strongly despite certain difficulties.

Industrial production activities developed strongly, the index of industrial production (IIP) maintained double-digit growth, up 11.06%. Trade and service activities were vibrant; total retail sales of consumer goods and services increased sharply; exports and imports increased quite high compared to the same period. State budget collection was focused on right from the beginning of the year, reaching the set plan with more than 7,800 billion VND. Public investment continued to be focused on and directed strongly, with timely allocation of capital sources.

Assessments from practice as well as reports at the meeting show that, in addition to the achieved results, the socio-economic situation in the first quarter of 2025 of the province still has difficulties and limitations in a number of areas. In the first quarter of 2025, the progress of disbursement of public investment capital in Long An was slow, especially for projects managed by the province. The main reasons were identified as difficulties in site clearance, prolonged bidding procedures and the rearrangement of the administrative apparatus affecting a number of projects to build headquarters and cultural centers. Meanwhile, national target programs also had slow progress, with the disbursement rate reaching only 5.84% of the plan. The new rural construction program alone only reached 5.91%, while the sustainable poverty reduction program had almost no change.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut emphasized: In order to focus on tasks and solutions for the province's growth rate (GRDP) to reach 10-11% in 2025, it is necessary to focus on accelerating the disbursement of public investment, especially for projects and transitional portfolios. Units and investors need to strengthen coordination, proactively remove obstacles, especially in site clearance and complete investment procedures to promptly allocate capital for implementation. Priority is given to timely handling of key projects such as Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, Provincial Road (DT) 823D, DT827E, DT822B and 4 resettlement areas, ...

In particular, strive to complete key projects and works being implemented, contributing to the completion of the targets of the 2020-2025 term, welcoming the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. At the same time, complete the arrangement of administrative units, implementing the "2-level" local government model.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut gave a speech at the meeting

In addition, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut also requested that units and localities focus on implementing the work of managing budget revenue and expenditure, striving to complete the 2025 target of increasing revenue by 12% compared to 2024. Focus on completing the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area; promote the work of ensuring security and order... At the same time, it is necessary to continue to complete well the assigned tasks in the process of arranging and streamlining the organizational apparatus with the spirit of "if there is one month left, we must do one month, if there is one day left, we must do one day"./.
