"Last year was a record year for our country in terms of road construction volume. About 650 kilometers of federal and regional roads were built, which is three times more than the previous year," Mr. Mishustin said.

According to the Russian Prime Minister, it is important to continue creating a unified transport system across the Eurasian space, forming new logistics infrastructure and establishing smooth and safe international routes.

On this basis, Russia is actively developing the North-South transport corridor, expanding transport capabilities in the East direction - to China, Southeast Asia and countries in the Asia- Pacific region, as well as strengthening transport capabilities in the Northwest.

Particularly emphasizing the project to speed up the transportation of agricultural products Eurasian Agroexpress, Prime Minister Mishustin said: "Last year, more than 450 thousand tons of goods were transported. In the future, additional agricultural centers, trade and logistics centers will allow us to increase supplies. These centers are currently being built along the routes."

Also at the meeting, representatives of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of commitment to harmoniously develop the transport and logistics potential of the railway transport industry in the EAEU countries.

The Russian side expects the agreement to help increase the share of cargo transportation services in the global market and will have a positive impact on transport volumes along the trans-Eurasian corridors.

Speaking at the meeting, Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov proposed developing an agreement with the EAEU on electronic exchange of information on goods and means of transport to speed up cross-border transportation, TASS reported.

The country also proposed that the EAEU develop free trade measures for agricultural products without imposing restrictions.
