In the newly completed house in Ngoc Loi hamlet, Ngoc Chuc commune, Mrs. Ha My Dung (75 years old), daughter of martyr Ha Van Suol, emotionally said: "Having a new house, I am very happy". Mrs. Dung's life was full of hardships and ups and downs, no husband, no children, no land, and many illnesses in her old age. Mrs. Dung's old house was built more than 20 years ago, now degraded, with leaks everywhere.

Thanks to the attention of the local government, Ms. Dung received 60 million VND in support from the provincial budget, and relatives contributed another 60 million VND, and the spacious house was completed. Ngoc Chuc commune leaders handed over a house of gratitude to Ms. Ha My Dung, residing in Ngoc Loi hamlet.

With no husband, no children, and no land to produce, Ms. Ho Thi Dung relied on the care of her two younger siblings and the care of the local community. Entering her new house, she emotionally shared: "I feel warm, have more motivation to live well and take care of my father's incense."

Sharing about the work of caring for families with meritorious services, Kinh Xuoi Hamlet Chief Nguyen Van Dung said: “The hamlet has 419 households, of which 33 households worship martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and people with meritorious services. On every holiday, Tet, or when there are benefactors supporting, we visit, give gifts, deliver gifts, and necessities to families to strengthen the village and neighborhood relationship.”

In 2024 - 2025, Ngoc Chuc commune built and repaired 60 houses for policy families and martyrs' relatives with a total cost of more than 2 billion VND, completing the target assigned by the province. Currently, the commune has 311 policy families, martyrs' relatives..., of which 109 people have merit and receive monthly allowances.

Vice Chairman of Ngoc Chuc Commune People's Committee ( An Giang Province) Huynh Van Trang said: "Ngoc Chuc Commune always pays attention to implementing preferential policies of the Party and State, and at the same time mobilizes more social resources to take care of policy families. Each house built not only helps people settle down but also shows gratitude and encouragement for families to continue to rise up and preserve the revolutionary tradition of their homeland."
