The "Discover Malaysia" seminar and trade show aims to update travel agencies and media agencies in Da Nang with the latest information of the Malaysian tourism industry, highlighting the diversity of tourist destinations and products in Malaysia.

Ms. Nor Hayati Zainuddin, Director of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board in Vietnam, shared: “Vietnam has always been an important source market for Malaysia. Strong promotional initiatives are essential for Malaysia to attract more Vietnamese tourists, especially the new direct flight from Da Nang to Kuala Lumpur by Malaysia Airlines. With the increasing number of direct flights between Vietnam and Malaysia, Malaysia is positioned as a preferred tourist destination in the region. All these efforts will be an important contribution towards the success of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.”

To optimize the effectiveness of this promotional activity, the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board is also collaborating with the Malaysia Homestay Association andEducation Malaysia to highlight the cultural and educational values that Malaysia can offer. This initiative is especially aimed at Vietnamese students, providing opportunities for experiential learning and cultural exchange.

This conference also aims to celebrate Malaysia Airlines' daily direct flight from Da Nang (DAD) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL), starting from September 24, 2024. The direct flight between Da Nang and Kuala Lumpur will help strengthen connectivity, promote tourism and create a trade bridge between Vietnam and Malaysia. Currently, there are 146 direct flights from Vietnam to Malaysia every week and the Tourism Promotion Agency of Malaysia expects remarkable growth from the ASEAN market, including Vietnam. For the whole year of 2024, Malaysia aims to attract 27.3 million international visitors with tourism revenue of 102.7 billion Malaysian Ringgit.

On the occasion of the conference, Malaysia will also participate in the 2024 International Dance Festival, which will take place from 17-23 August 2024 in Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province.
