Enjoy the opening night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2023

(HNMO) - On the opening night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2023, defending champion Finland and host Da Nang - Vietnam delivered impressive performances, receiving the applause of tens of thousands of spectators.

After 3 years of waiting, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2023 has officially returned. The opening night of DIFF 2023 took place on the evening of June 2 with the name "Peace for Humanity" and the opening match between the two teams Vietnam and Finland received the applause of tens of thousands of spectators.

According to the reporter's records, although tourism has not fully recovered and the number of visitors to Da Nang is not as large as before the Covid-19 pandemic, DIFF 2023 still receives the attention of tens of thousands of spectators. The festival's stands with more than 5,000 people have been filled. Fireworks viewing locations along both banks of the Han River also recorded a large number of spectators coming to enjoy.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh (in Nai Hien Dong ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang) took his family to the park on the east bank of the Han River early to choose a place to watch the fireworks. "Fireworks have become a specialty of Da Nang. The festival has been postponed for 3 years due to the pandemic, so the whole family is eagerly waiting," said Mr. Thanh.

Meanwhile, Ms. Thu Hoa (a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) shared: “It was worth the effort to come to Da Nang this time to watch the fireworks festival. It was truly so beautiful, so impressive.”

Speaking at the opening night, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Trung Chinh said: “This year's Da Nang International Fireworks Festival is a special festival, because we and you have waited a long time - after 3 years of interruption, to be able to enjoy memorable moments together tonight, by the Han River. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused the world to stagnate, we have become distant, so we hope that the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival with the common theme "A World Without Distance" will be a bridge to help remove all barriers so that everyone can enjoy together the artistic values, cultural beauty, together towards the aspiration for peace and prosperity".

According to Mr. Le Trung Chinh, the success of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival in previous years has affirmed its attractiveness to the city's residents as well as domestic and foreign tourists. This is the pride of Da Nang, and at the same time a challenge for the city to constantly strive to surpass, continue to improve the quality of organization and performance to build the brand of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival to be more and more worthy of everyone's expectations.

On the opening night, the Finnish team showed incredible creativity and explosiveness. With their distinctive rock music style, every time JoHo Pyro performed, the audience held their breath and then cheered with excitement.

While Finland chose to talk about intense emotions and love in the new normal life, the host told a story of peace and friendship through the theme "Da Nang - The sound of peace".

With a duration of 20 minutes and 25 seconds, the Vietnamese team's fireworks display was divided into 3 parts. The first part was a combination of music and the colors and lights of fireworks in a gentle way to awaken the audience's emotions. Part 2 used vibrant music combined with fireworks effects, expressing the rise of Da Nang people to overcome difficulties after the pandemic, as well as peace with the world.

Part 3 “Peaceful Tones” is the main part of the theme, combining modern, grandiose and explosive music. Through that, the main message for this year’s festival season is the wish for people around the world to have peace, stability and happiness.

DIFF 2023 takes place from June 2 to July 8, with the participation of 8 teams, with the following competition schedule: Da Nang - Vietnam team competes on the opening night with Finland. Next are Canada - France (June 10), Italy - Australia (June 17), Poland - England (June 24). The final match takes place on the evening of July 8.

Each team has 20 minutes to perform according to the theme each night agreed upon by the organizers including: Peace for Humanity, Love Without Borders, Conquering Dreams, Dance of Nature and World Without Distance.
