According to comrade Le Thi Hoa, Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Son district: Determining the Project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is an activity of profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the fine traditions of the nation and the special attention of the whole community to the poor, the Fatherland Front Committee of the district has coordinated with communes and towns to directly visit each poor household to assess the current housing status and economic conditions to have appropriate support measures for the right subjects. At the same time, calling on organizations, unions, and enterprises located in the district and outside to socialize 1.8 billion VND to join hands in building houses for the subjects. By May 6, 2025, the district had completed the goal of starting construction and repairing 1,811 temporary and dilapidated houses for poor, near-poor households and other subjects. Warm and affectionate houses not only demonstrate the community's and society's sharing and support for poor households, but also become a source of encouragement and motivation for them to work enthusiastically and build a prosperous life on their own.
The Provincial Business Association and Saigon Magazine presented financial support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses for the family of Ms. Ta Thu Dung, Binh Ca 1 village, Tu Quan commune (Yen Son).
The family of Mr. Tran Quang Phuc, Thai Ninh village, Phuc Ninh commune (Yen Son) has lived in a dilapidated house for many years. In storm No. 3 in 2024, hundreds of cubic meters of soil from the left bank of the river behind flooded and buried the family's house. Thanks to the connection between the Provincial Business Association and Saigon Magazine, his family was supported with 50 million VND to build a new house, completed and put into use in early April 2025, with a total value of over 200 million VND. Mr. Phuc emotionally shared: "Without the attention and support of the authorities at all levels and Saigon Magazine, I would not dare to hope to have a spacious and sturdy house to live in like now. My family will actively participate in production labor to stabilize our lives and gradually develop the economy."
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Association, said: “Promoting the role of a bridge and coordinator in humanitarian and charitable activities, the Red Cross Association at all levels has actively mobilized organizations and individuals inside and outside the area to join hands to create resources to help poor and near-poor households and other subjects with housing. Since the beginning of the year, the Association has mobilized the construction and repair of 29 houses with a total value of over 1.7 billion VND. Many individuals, organizations and businesses have joined in, such as: Tuyen Quang Petroleum Company supported 4 houses; Tuyen Quang Electricity Company supported 2 houses; Vietnam Women's Journalists Club supported 1 house... In addition to the support level, the Provincial Association directed the Associations at all levels to mobilize benefactors inside and outside the locality to have more support in terms of working days, construction materials, gifts... according to the motto: the more support, the more valuable it is".
Connected by the Provincial Red Cross Association with the AloBacsi - Ho Chi Minh City delegation, the family of Ms. Trieu Thi Nho, Pac Hop village, Linh Phu commune (Chiem Hoa) was supported with 50 million VND to build a new house. Ms. Nho expressed: "My family is very happy to be supported to build a new house. Having a solid house, no longer afraid of rain and wind. Now we try to work hard to have conditions for the children to study...".
According to the report of the working group assisting the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses, as of May 10, the whole province had 6,691/6,928 houses supported for construction, reaching 96.58% of the plan. Of these, 3,903 houses were completed, 2,788 houses were under construction, and 237 households had not yet started construction. The total cost of supporting house construction was 337,112 million VND and 96,184 working days.
Thanks to the joint efforts of all levels, sectors, localities, enterprises, organizations and individuals... solid and spacious houses have been built, contributing to helping poor and near-poor households and families with preferential policies have stable housing. This will further motivate people to have confidence in life, in the Party and State's guidelines and policies, to feel secure in "settling down and working", actively participating in production, and contributing to building a more prosperous and civilized homeland.
