Coordination between the electricity industry and localities in regulating electricity production to serve economic growth

In 2025, according to the initial plan, the electricity industry allocated a target of more than 17.5 billion kWh of electricity production in Dong Nai , however, by the end of April, the electricity output had only reached more than 5.5 billion kWh. The situation in other localities across the country is similar. This is due to the low increase in electricity consumption demand, in addition, the regulation of electricity targets also depends on the actual situation, the price of electricity production of factories...

At the meeting, representatives of departments, branches, electricity production and supply units in the province and EVN exchanged and discussed solutions to better coordinate in electricity production and regulate electricity output of the units.

Accordingly, the locality needs to boost the demand for electricity, especially electricity in the production sector, from the increased demand, the electricity industry has made adjustments to regulate the output of units. It is necessary to do better in collecting information and reporting, especially in the field of rooftop solar power, self-production and self-consumption, and have a method to accurately assess the contributions of electricity production to economic growth...

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung affirmed that Dong Nai is aiming for double-digit economic growth this year. However, in recent months, the growth rate has been low, including in the manufacturing sector, especially electricity production and distribution.

To achieve high economic growth, it is necessary to have solutions to promote electricity production and supply, and increase electricity output to the market. The electricity sector and localities must proactively cooperate and support each other in investing in electricity production projects, regulating electricity in accordance with the needs of socio-economic development. The electricity sector must also closely follow the growth target of the locality to have appropriate monthly and quarterly growth scenarios.
