44 collectives and individuals were awarded in the emulation movement "Old age - Bright example" for the period 2021 - 2025

On the morning of May 28, the Provincial Association of the Elderly (NCT) held a ceremony to celebrate the 84th anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnamese Elderly (June 6, 1941 - June 6, 2025), the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly (May 10, 1995 - May 10, 2025) and summarize 5 years of the emulation movement "Old age - Bright example" for the period 2021 - 2025. Attending the ceremony were comrades: Vu Thanh Van, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Pham Van Nghiem, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Over the past 5 years, the patriotic emulation movement "Old age - Bright example" of the Provincial Elderly Association has attracted a large number of members to participate. The whole province has nearly 163,000 elderly people still directly working and producing, with more than 1,000 people recognized as good economic workers at the provincial level. The whole province has nearly 25,000 elderly people participating in social work, including hundreds of elderly people who are Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of associations, unions, and Fatherland Front committees at all levels. Associations at all levels have developed and maintained a fund to care for and promote the role of the elderly with a balance of more than 29 billion VND, annually organizing visits and encouraging sick and deceased elderly members with a value of more than 1.5 billion VND. The Association has supported the construction and repair of 382 temporary houses for the elderly, organized cultural - artistic, physical training and sports activities; Support the establishment of more than 2,000 cultural, artistic, sports and intergenerational self-help clubs in the province, attracting nearly 326,000 elderly people to participate.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Elderly Associations at all levels in the province to promote the fine traditions of the Vietnamese Elderly, continue to effectively implement the patriotic emulation movement "Old age - Bright example" at all levels of the association with many specific activities, practical content; promote the potential strengths, experience and political mettle of the elderly in the new era. Promote the responsibility of the elderly in educating revolutionary ethics, educating cultural traditions, national history, fostering revolutionary ideals for the younger generation, protecting the leadership and ideological foundation of the Party, proactively fighting against corruption and negativity right from the grassroots, participating in economic, cultural and social development, making positive contributions to the overall achievements of the province. The Provincial Association of the Elderly proactively advises, proposes, and coordinates with relevant agencies to implement the National Strategy for the Elderly to 2035, with a vision to 2045, and the Project for the Elderly to participate in promoting digital transformation, green transformation, entrepreneurship, and job creation. Strengthen inspection and supervision of the association, ensuring that 100% of the elderly are eligible to enjoy all policies prescribed by law, receive health and mental care, and develop their full potential in all areas of social life. He also requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, and sectors of the province regularly pay attention to and create favorable conditions to support the activities of the Association of the Elderly. Party committees and authorities at all levels have mechanisms and policies to strengthen care and protection for the elderly, encourage, motivate, and create favorable conditions for the elderly to actively participate in socio-economic development, digital transformation, green transformation, environmental protection, and participate in building a strong grassroots political system.
