According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , this result was achieved thanks to the flexible, creative and effective management of ministries, branches and localities in removing procedural bottlenecks, helping businesses expand production, and being proactive and responsive when facing difficulties to promote industrial development in each locality and business. In particular, the recovery of key industries was due to the Government's promotion of public investment stimulus, helping the materials, mechanical, steel industries, etc. benefit directly.

Economist Nguyen Minh Phong acknowledged that this result reflects the efforts of last year and the determination of the Government, ministries, branches, localities, and enterprises this year and the existing opportunities, in line with the actual assessment and set goals.

However, according to experts, the coming time will still face many difficulties when the international situation is changing rapidly and complicatedly, and the production and business activities of enterprises continue to be affected by many factors, especially geopolitical conflicts, disruptions in supply chains, input materials, unpredictable developments in US tax policies, etc. This reality requires ministries, branches, localities, and enterprises to continue to promote more fundamental solutions.

Currently, many textile and garment enterprises have received enough orders until the end of the second quarter of 2025 and are negotiating for the third quarter of 2025. However, partners tend to speed up delivery progress to limit any impact due to US tariff policies, in addition to the trend of slowing down because of waiting for the next tax policies.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group Le Tien Truong informed that the entire textile and garment system is quickly implementing existing orders by arranging production to increase overtime hours according to regulations, and has many solutions to increase productivity.

“Enterprises in the industry are taking full advantage of the short-term opportunity of the 90-day US reciprocal tax deferral to successfully complete orders during this period, thereby clearly demonstrating the breakthrough capacity, responsibility towards customers, building prestige and competitive advantage of the Vietnamese textile and garment industry in the coming period,” said Mr. Le Tien Truong.

Hoa Phat Group Chairman Tran Dinh Long said that the company is always ready to flexibly adapt to domestic and foreign market developments, maintaining an export ratio of about 20%. Hoa Phat's hot-rolled coil (HRC) products are expected to increase sales by 35% this year; at the same time, the company is promoting its strategy of increasing the production ratio of high-quality steel.

Notably, the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex project is being implemented on schedule, expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year, thereby, the Group strives to achieve double-digit growth for 2025 and the following years.

To maintain the momentum of industrial production growth in the coming quarters, economist Nguyen Minh Phong said that, together with the Government, ministries, sectors, and localities, businesses need to actively negotiate with partners to have appropriate tariff levels while sharing risks and clearing supply chain bottlenecks. Businesses should also come up with response scenarios to quickly adapt, strive to diversify markets to prevent the worst-case scenario, and restructure operations in a flexible and effective manner.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade said it will continue to coordinate with ministries, sectors and localities to implement many solutions to encourage businesses to expand investment, calling on large corporations and multinational corporations to invest in key national projects, thereby promoting industrial development.

Deputy Director of the Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade) Nguyen Ngoc Thanh said that in order to realize the goal of double-digit growth in industrial production, the Ministry of Industry and Trade continues to effectively implement the working program with localities and the existing business support program. Thereby, it aims to promote the growth momentum of industries in key economic regions, creating a driving force to continue promoting industrial growth nationwide.
