Co To is one of 12 beautiful tourist island districts of Vietnam, located in the East of Quang Ninh province, about 60 km from the mainland to the Northeast of Bac Bo Gulf. Co To has a total sea border with China of nearly 200 km from the offshore of Tran island to the East of Bach Long Vi island of Hai Phong.

Co To archipelago with a natural area of ​​53.68km2, has about 74 large and small islands, including three large islands: Co To big, Co To small and Thanh Lan island. In recent years, with the investment of the Party, the State and the promotion of internal strength and constant efforts of the locality, Co To has had many innovations, breakthroughs, and achieved many important development achievements in many fields, especially tourism.

From April 2023, Ao Tien High-class Port (Van Don - Quang Ninh) will be put into operation with a synchronous and modern infrastructure system, making the journey from the mainland to the islands more convenient and comfortable. Nature has favored Co To with beautiful beaches with long, gentle, clean sand strips, clear water such as Hong Van, Van Chay beaches... which are considered the most attractive in the East Sea of ​​the Gulf of Tonkin and Northeast Vietnam. Hong Van beach is one of the most beautiful and poetic beaches in Co To. 7km from the town center, separate from the residential area. With a long stretch of sand, calm and safe sea, Hong Van beach in Hong Hai village, Dong Tien commune, Co To district, is becoming an ideal destination for tourists when traveling to Co To island. The synchronous and harmonious development is gradually bringing Co To closer to the goal of developing high-quality ecological sea and island tourism, becoming one of the important driving forces of the tourism - service industry, a key economic sector in Quang Ninh.
