Heavy rain in the North for many days to come, storms likely to hit the mainland in July

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has just announced that in July, the average temperature across the country was generally 0.5-1 degree higher, and in some places higher than the average of many years (TBNN) for the same period. Total rainfall in areas across the country was approximately the same as the TBNN for this period.

Notably, in July, there is a possibility of 1-2 storms/tropical depressions appearing in the East Sea and they may affect the mainland.

Regarding the current heat wave, the meteorological agency forecasts that in the Central region, it will continue; in the North, it will decrease from July 2 and tend to increase again in the last 20 days of the month.

During the forecast period, the Northern, North Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions will have many days of showers and thunderstorms; in which, the Northern, Central Highlands and Southern regions are likely to experience some widespread moderate and heavy rains lasting about 2-4 days.

The meteorological agency warns that nationwide, continue to be on guard against thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and hail.

In the immediate future, tomorrow (July 2), the Northern Delta and Hoa Binh regions will continue to experience hot weather with the highest temperature of 35-37 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity of 55-60%.

From the evening of July 2 to the morning of July 4, in the mountainous and midland areas of the North, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall from 40-80mm, locally over 150mm.

The Northern Delta region will have showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 15-30mm, and some places experiencing over 80mm. Therefore, from July 3, the heat wave in the North is likely to end.

In addition, in the evening and night of July 1, in the Northwest region, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 15-30mm, locally over 60mm.

From the afternoon of July 4, heavy rain in the mountainous and midland areas of the North is likely to gradually decrease. From July 5-7, the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night, with some places experiencing heavy rain.

Regarding the heat, the area from Nghe An to Quang Ngai continues with the highest temperature of 35-37 degrees, some places over 38 degrees.

South Central region from July 4-5, in the late afternoon and evening there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places.

In the coming days, the Central Highlands and the South will maintain sunny days, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, with heavy rain in some places.

Weather forecast for the next 10 days: The North will have strong heat before heavy rains again . Weather forecast for the next 10 days (June 30 - July 9), the North will have strong heat for about 2 days; from July 2, thunderstorms will begin, the temperature will gradually decrease. The Central region will still be extremely hot. The Central Highlands and the South will have long thunderstorms.
