At the press conference announcing details of the Miss Earth Vietnam 2025 contest held on the afternoon of May 6, the organizing committee introduced many notable innovations. Most notably, the regulations on Vietnam's representative in international competitions, when the organizing committee confirmed that the new Miss will not necessarily be the representative of Vietnam at the international Miss Earth.
Mr. Pham Duy Khanh - Head of the organizing committee - said that the Top 4 contestants (including the beauty queen and 3 runners-up) will continue to be evaluated for about 1 month after the final night to choose the most deserving person. "Previously, many viewers wondered why the runner-up was more deserving than the beauty queen but was not allowed to compete internationally. Therefore, we will choose 1 of the 4 girls with the most qualifications to represent Vietnam," he explained when the press asked questions.

The organizing committee responded to the press about selecting candidates for the international competition:
Head of the jury - People's Artist Le Khanh - added: "In many competitions, judges are confused when considering between domestic and international criteria. With Miss Earth, the representative needs to combine beauty, intelligence and the ability to convey messages about the environment. Further evaluation after the final night helps find the truly strongest candidate."
Regarding the contest format, Miss Earth Vietnam with the theme of Rebirth Beauty will hold the preliminary round in Hanoi (May 15) and Ho Chi Minh City (May 20), the semi-final night (June 22) and the final (June 28) in Hai Phong. The final night will have a knockout round from Top 35, 20, 8, 4.
Another novelty this year is the removal of the national costume competition, replaced by a recycled costume competition - demonstrating the spirit of environmental protection. The new beauty queen will receive a car as a prize and become the Hai Phong Environmental Ambassador.
The contest also organized many meaningful social and environmental projects: giving charity houses to poor families, cleaning up residential areas and relic sites in Cat Ba, donating compost bins in Le Chan District and planting 3,000 trees in Thuy Nguyen District.
Miss Earth Vietnam 2025 is part of a series of events celebrating the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong's liberation and the 2025 Red Flamboyant Festival.
