Rally to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos

VOV.VN - On the afternoon of October 24, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Luang Prabang (Northern Laos) coordinated with the Military Command of Xiengkhouang province to organize a meeting to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Experts in Laos (October 30, 1949 - October 30, 2023).

Attending the event were representatives of the Consulate General; representatives of many local authorities, units of both Vietnam and Laos, and many veterans who fought in Xiengkhouang.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Kieu Thi Hang Phuc, Consul General of Vietnam in Luang Prabang, reviewed the history of the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos, remembered and expressed gratitude for the great contributions of generations of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos for the revolutionary cause of the two Parties, two States, for the independence and freedom of the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos; emphasized that through the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American imperialists, as well as in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, countless Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts heroically sacrificed or left part of their blood and bones in the friendly country of Laos, and until today we are still coordinating the search, hoping to soon bring their remains back to rest in the motherland of Vietnam.

Ms. Kieu Thi Hang Phuc, Consul General of Vietnam in Luang Prabang affirmed: "This is an opportunity to review the tradition of special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, to remember and show gratitude for the great contributions of generations of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos to the revolutionary cause of the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos. This is also an opportunity to propagate andeducate the people, especially the young generation of the two countries, about the precious and rare tradition of the Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam relationship."

Consul General in Luang Prabang Kieu Thi Hang Phuc also expressed her pride and joy at the positive developments of the exemplary, loyal and pure relationship between Vietnam and Laos, affirming that no matter how difficult or arduous, the two countries are always determined to maintain, protect and develop the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries to increasingly bear fruit and be closely linked for a long time.

At the rally, representatives of Xiengkhouang provincial government and the provincial Veterans Association expressed their sincere thanks and deepest gratitude to the Party, State, Army and people of Vietnam for always providing great, valuable, and wholehearted support and assistance to the Lao Party, State, Army and people in the past struggle for national liberation as well as in the current cause of national protection and development; affirmed to continue to propagate and educate cadres, employees and armed forces, especially the younger generation, to imbue and understand more deeply the spirit of proletarian internationalism, pure loyalty of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts helping Laos, contributing to further promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
