During the program, 120 high school students from Chau Phu district experienced a military environment, including: visiting Regiment 892, learning about the unit's traditions and training and living conditions; learning military discipline and skills: arranging personal belongings, folding blankets and sheets according to regulations; practicing setting up tents and hammocks; experiencing disassembling and assembling AK submachine guns; and experiencing communal meals according to military regulations.

Huynh Anh (a 10th-grade student at Thanh My Tay High School) shared: “One of the activities I enjoyed most was the experience of disassembling and assembling an AK submachine gun. We had learned about this in our national defense education class. But the difference is that we got to practice on '100% real' guns – equipment that soldiers are closely associated with throughout their military service, contributing to the protection of our homeland.”
According to Nguyen Quoc Trung, Secretary of the Chau Phu District Youth Union, the "One Day as a Soldier" activity aims to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025). This practical experience contributes to educating young people about patriotic traditions, national pride, and a sense of responsibility in building and protecting the Fatherland. It also creates an environment for Youth Union members and young people to train, experience the military environment, enhance organizational discipline, team spirit, and personal resilience…
