One million people will be screened for disease for free through AI platform

The Young Doctors' Journey Program following Uncle Ho's teachings, volunteering for community health in 2025 will have 20,000 young doctors providing consultation and direct medical examination for 100,000 people; it is expected that 1 million people will be screened for diseases through the artificial intelligence (AI) platform.

On May 10, in Hung Yen, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, and the CAREME program organized the Central-level launching ceremony of the Young Physicians' Journey following Uncle Ho's teachings, volunteering for community health in 2025 with the theme "Young Physicians take the initiative, striving in the digital age".

The journey is expected to take place nationwide from May to November 2025, with 4 teams: Volunteer Examination Team; Digital Healthcare Transformation Team; Disease Screening Team; Blood, Tissue, and Organ Donation Team.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association honored 10 outstanding young Vietnamese physicians and 10 promising young Vietnamese physicians with outstanding achievements, especially in digital transformation of healthcare, pioneering in science, technology and innovation in the period 2023 - 2024.

Speaking at the program, Dr. Ha Anh Duc - Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health, Chairman of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association said that the young physicians honored are the important "nucleus" of this year's Young Physicians journey - a journey to excel in the digital age. They are not only role models for young doctors to learn from, but also the core force, spreading professional values, ethics, creativity, and service to the network of young physicians across the country. They are also pioneers in innovation, contributing to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese healthcare sector in the coming time.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 2025 journey will involve 20,000 young doctors, both in person and online; providing direct consultation and medical examination to 100,000 people. It is expected that 1 million people will be screened for diseases through the artificial intelligence (AI) platform. All people will have access to information about non-communicable diseases on the program's platforms. One million young people will be counseled on knowledge of recognizing chronic diseases, mental illnesses, and reproductive health and pre-marital counseling. At least 1,000 people, patients and children in difficult circumstances will receive financial support or free medical services such as CT scans.

At the program, young doctors provided free medical examinations to Hung Yen residents.

The program will also build a BigData registration model and a national disease model, aiming to build AI for medical examination and treatment activities.

Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union, Head of the journey's command board said that with the theme "Young doctors taking the initiative, striving in the digital age", the program closely followed the Party's major orientation, clearly demonstrating the responsibility and pioneering spirit of the young medical team in approaching and mastering modern technological achievements: From digital medicine, artificial intelligence, big data in medicine, to remote medical examination and treatment and personalized medicine. That spirit is also the red thread running through this year's journey.

The CAREME program is expected to be held at 5 hospitals nationwide and 10 community examination programs with 20,000 people receiving free kidney function examination and testing at community programs and at participating hospitals.

In addition, millions of people can also self-screen by entering information and screening by AI of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, supported by CT scans and other diagnostic tests when there are signs of illness.
