In this 5th novel, story and memoir writing contest on the theme "For national security and peaceful life", the Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam Writers' Association continue to closely coordinate, invest a lot of effort and intelligence to create favorable conditions for writers to participate in writing with 2 writing camps that have been successfully organized in Quang Ninh (April 2023) and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (April 2024). The 3rd writing camp held in Ninh Binh this time will continue to create a professional writing environment for authors to create pages of literature that truly reflect many aspects of the image of the People's Public Security soldier in the struggle to protect national security and the peace and happiness of the people.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Ninh Binh writing camp, Colonel Tran Cao Kieu - Deputy Director of the Public Security Communications Department, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the Public Security Publishing House emphasized: “This writing camp is one of the important activities of the contest, aiming to create conditions for writers to penetrate reality, directly access the working and combat environment of the Public Security Forces. Through activities such as visiting units, meeting soldiers, accessing case files, etc., writers can collect vivid and authentic materials, thereby inspiring creative inspiration. Writer Nguyen Binh Phuong - Vice President of the Vietnam Writers Association - the agency that has accompanied the novel, story and memoir writing contests on the theme "For national security and peaceful life" for more than 25 years said: "We are living in a society with strong movement and movement. With about 80 works that the Organizing Committee has collected and will collect in the past 2 years and through this 3rd writing camp, writers and authors participating in the contest continue to contribute to vividly reflecting the fight against crime in all fields of the People's Public Security Forces, the movement of all people participating in protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety. In addition, the Organizing Committee encourages authors to write about new issues arising in the current situation and hot issues related to the task of protecting national security, non-traditional security such as: cyber security, transnational crime, environmental crime, etc.
Representing the writers and pens participating in this literary writing camp, writer Dao Trung Hieu - who won the A prize in the novel, story and memoir writing contest on the theme "For the security of the Fatherland and the peace of life" in the period of 2012-2015 with the novel "Bao dam" (adapted into a long-running TV series of the same name) shared: "Writing about the police force is not easy. As the permanent unit of the contest, CAND Publishing House commits to accompany and coordinate with Ninh Binh Provincial Police to organize for writers to have practical contact with some units of the Provincial Police, the Department of Prison Management Police, compulsory education facilities, reform schools, and typical individuals with many achievements during their work. The literary writing camp in Ninh Binh will be held from May 15 to May 25, 2005. It is expected that the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the 5th novel, story and memoir writing contest on the theme "For National Security and Peaceful Life" (2022-2025 period) will be held in August 2025.
