Standing out in the Na Ka plum valley is the plum garden of Mr. Tran Xuan Kha's family, which is over 2 hectares wide. His family's plum garden welcomes visitors almost all year round, from the time the plum flowers bloom, during the early plum season and during the main plum season.
Guiding tourists to visit the plum garden, Mr. Kha said: This year, there is a leap month so the plums ripen later than usual. Currently, the plums are only sparsely ripe, visitors can visit, take pictures, pick and enjoy fresh plums right in the garden. On weekends, the family welcomes about 200 visitors/day. Since switching to growing plums according to VietGAP standards, combined with tourism , the family has earned more than 1 billion VND/year.
Immersed in the lush plum garden, Ms. Lam Phuong Thanh, a tourist from Hanoi , shared: Every year during the plum season, my family comes to Moc Chau to experience picking fruit. The most fun for children is to experience being a farmer picking really ripe plums, still covered in white powder, and enjoying them right in the garden.
In Na Ka plum valley, there are many gardens open to welcome visitors to visit and experience with entrance fees ranging from 30,000-40,000 VND/person, visitors can choose the biggest and most delicious plums to enjoy right in the garden. In addition to visiting and taking photos, visitors can buy fruits picked in the garden to bring home as gifts with prices ranging from 30,000-60,000 VND/kg.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Van, Director of Moc Chau Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative, informed: The Cooperative currently has more than 30 hectares of plums in Na Ka valley, the entire area is grown according to VietGAP standards. In addition to opening its doors to visitors for sightseeing and experience, the Cooperative also provides camping services right in the plum garden. Through this, we hope to introduce and promote to domestic and international consumers the superior quality of Moc Chau plums due to their crispness, sweetness, aroma and especially safe agricultural products.
The first time coming to Moc Chau plateau, Mr. Bui Thanh Nam, a tourist from Hai Phong city, shared: Coming to Moc Chau, I felt the airy space, fresh climate, and many beautiful scenes. The most impressive thing was that for the first time I experienced fruit picking, saw with my own eyes the ancient plum trees, full of fruit, and enjoyed the very fresh plums in the garden. I bought a lot of plums as gifts for my family and friends.
Moc Chau is the land with the largest plum growing area in the country, with a total area of nearly 3,500 hectares; of which, the area currently being harvested is about 3,000 hectares. In addition to Na Ka valley, visitors can go to Mu Nau plum valley to enjoy delicious fruit right in the garden and take check-in photos. Moc Chau plum trees are being planted and cared for according to VietGAP process, a safe, sustainable and environmentally friendly organic production process. In addition to selling fruit, plums are also processed into many products: dried plums, plum jam, plum syrup... Plums, products processed from Moc Chau plums are increasingly known and chosen by domestic tourists and international friends.
To promote and introduce Moc Chau plums as well as honor plum growers, on May 31 and June 1, Moc Chau town will organize the Moc Chau plum picking festival with many exciting and attractive activities inviting visitors to experience. The festival is an annual cultural - tourism event, becoming a typical agricultural tourism "brand" of Moc Chau plateau, certainly bringing visitors interesting and unforgettable experiences.
