Cardamom harvest season in Hoang Su Phi

BHG - During this time (October 2023), people of the Nung, Dao, and Mong ethnic groups in communes on the slopes of Tay Con Linh mountain range in Hoang Su Phi district are bustling into the forest to collect cardamom.

Favored by nature with a cool climate all year round, old forests, many streams, and high humidity suitable for cardamom to grow. Planting cardamom under the forest canopy to increase income for people while protecting the forest.

Cardamom has brought many economic benefits, helping to reduce poverty, increase income, many households have escaped poverty, have spacious houses, bought TVs, motorbikes, and their children have received a full education.

After harvesting, cardamom must be put in the oven to dry. Every 9-10 kg of fresh fruit after drying will have about 2 kg of dried fruit left. Each batch takes about 3 days and 3 nights to dry.
