Heavy, prolonged rain, Director of Hydrometeorological Station issues warning

As of the morning of October 21, Quang Ngai province continued to experience heavy rains, lasting nearly 1 hour each time.

Through observation in Quang Ngai city, from about 6:50 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., heavy rain continued without stopping, leading to local flooding in many areas.

On the same morning, speaking with Dan Viet reporter, Director of Quang Ngai Province Hydrometeorological Station Nham Xuan Sy said that since early morning today, in many areas of the province there has been very heavy rain.

Notably, in some areas in Mo Duc, Tra Bong, Nghia Hanh districts... the rainfall was measured at over 100mm. Specifically, at Duc Phu, Hoc Sam lake, Hoc Xoai lake... in Mo Duc district, the rainfall was measured at about 102 - 110mm; many other areas, although the rainfall was less, also fluctuated from 80 - 100mm.

It is forecasted that today and tomorrow (October 22), in Quang Ngai there is a possibility of heavy and prolonged rain, so people, especially in mountainous areas, need to be on guard against landslides, flash floods and flooding in low-lying areas, warned Director of the Quang Ngai Provincial Hydrometeorological Station Nham Xuan Sy.
