Health insurance premium for students in the 2024-2025 school year

In the 2024-2025 school year, students pay 73,710 VND/month for health insurance.

Regarding health insurance premiums for students:

According to regulations, the contribution rate is 4.5% of the basic salary multiplied by the number of months corresponding to the validity period of the health insurance card.

Of which, the state budget supports 30% of the contribution level, the remaining part is paid by individuals (70%), specifically:

Contribution level: 2,340,000 VND x 4.5% = 105,300 VND/person/month.

Students pay 70% themselves: 105,300 VND x 70% = 73,710 VND/person/month.

State budget supports 30%: 105,300 VND x 30% = 31,590 VND/person/month.

In addition, provinces and cities continue to provide additional support from local budgets.

When going to the right hospital for treatment:

Students are entitled to 80% of medical examination and treatment costs within the scope of health insurance benefits.

Students are entitled to 100% of medical examination and treatment costs if:

+ Medical examination and treatment at commune level (Commune, ward, town health stations).

+ Total cost for one medical examination and treatment is lower than 15% of the basic salary (VND 351,000).

+ Have participated in health insurance for 5 consecutive years or more and have the amount of co-payment for medical examination and treatment in the year greater than 6 months of basic salary (14,040,000 VND).

When seeking medical treatment outside the prescribed line:

+ Students are entitled to 40% of the cost within the scope of benefits when receiving inpatient treatment at a central hospital.

+ Students are entitled to 100% of the costs within the scope of benefits when receiving inpatient treatment at provincial hospitals.

+ Students are entitled to 100% of the costs within the scope of benefits when receiving outpatient and inpatient treatment at district hospitals.
