After the merger, Muong La commune expanded its administrative boundaries, opening up new development space, connecting production areas, hydroelectric reservoirs and the central area. This is an important condition to exploit potential, synchronously develop commodity agriculture , community tourism and renewable energy.
During the past term, the socio -economic picture of the communes before merging into Muong La commune had many improvements. Agriculture, the mainstay of the local economy, shifted strongly to commodity production, improving productivity and quality of agricultural products. After the merger, Muong La commune had 2,035 hectares of fruit trees, with an output of over 10,000 tons/year. Taking advantage of the lake's water surface, 659 high-quality commercial fish cages were developed.
Industry and services are developed, the whole commune has 6 hydroelectric plants operating stably; 39 solar power systems with a total capacity of over 3,500 kW. Community tourism has been formed in the It Ong and Muong Trai residential areas, combining visits to hydroelectric works with exploring ethnic culture. Homestays and lake tours have been formed, contributing to shifting the economic structure, preserving cultural values, creating jobs and increasing income. In the past 5 years, the commune has welcomed over 51,000 visitors, with tourism revenue reaching over 15 billion VND, not a large number, but a positive signal for the changing land.
Infrastructure continues to be heavily invested in. In the period of 2020 - 2025, the commune mobilized many resources to build 109 infrastructure works with a total capital of over 608 billion VND. Completed key routes such as provincial road 109 It Ong - Ngoc Chien, Chieng San - Chieng Hoa road; put into use the General Hospital phase 2; arranged stable population in Nam Pam, Pi Toong and Chieng San residential areas.
In addition to the achieved results, the poverty rate is still 8.9% but the reduction is not sustainable; traffic in many villages is still isolated by dirt roads; tourism potential has not been fully exploited; administrative reform and digital transformation are still slow.
To remove these "bottlenecks", the 1st Congress of the Commune Party Committee, term 2025-2030, proposed three breakthroughs in the new period, including: Building a friendly government, administrative reform associated with digital transformation; developing the private economy, forming a sustainable value chain associated with tourism; completing the solidification of rural traffic, building a new bright - green - clean - beautiful - safe countryside.
Comrade Nguyen Van Bac, Secretary of the Muong La Commune Party Committee, emphasized: The Party Committee focuses on leading the change in thinking from management to service, deploying digital government, online public services at levels 3 and 4; maintaining the initiatives "Saturday for the people", "Government listens to the people", bringing technology closer to the people.
In the economic field, Muong La encourages investment in agricultural processing, community tourism development; supports the renovation of houses into homestays, connects with travel businesses; develops OCOP products with traceability stamps, combines traditional festivals and lake experience tours.
Developing infrastructure, the commune focuses on completing the construction of roads from the center to the villages with the motto "The State and the people work together", the government supports cement, people contribute land and labor, creating conditions for socio-economic development, changing the face of the countryside.
The Commune Party Committee has issued a plan to implement the "Digital Education for All" movement with the goal of 100% of cadres and civil servants using digital platforms for work by 2026; 100% of students equipped with digital skills; organizing the annual "Digital Education Festival for All"; building the model of "Digital Family", "Digital Market - Digital Countryside", and the campaign "Youth join hands to popularize digital skills".
Officials, party members and people are showing their determination to put the Party's resolutions into practice to build "model new rural areas", develop community tourism associated with reservoirs, replace dirt roads with concrete roads, and build spacious schools.
Comrade Lo Van Chinh, Party Cell Secretary, Sub-area Chief of It Bon Sub-area, Muong La Commune, shared: During the past term, the Party Cell mobilized people to participate in hundreds of working days to support disadvantaged households in rebuilding their houses. Up to now, the sub-area has no more dilapidated houses. From 2024 onwards, the sub-area has had 65 households donating land to expand internal roads; mobilized over 200 working days to help households dismantle and rebuild 377 m of fences; 5 more alleys were installed with lighting bulbs; 1.6 km of the sub-area's main road was installed with solar energy bulbs.
Implementing the 3 breakthroughs of the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term, the It Bon sub-area Party cell held a meeting, assigned party members to be in charge of each group of households, guided people to access online public services, and participated in the digital transformation movement. Regarding transportation, the village mobilized people to donate land and contribute to building concrete roads. We believe that when the Party's will is in line with the people's will, the resolution's goals will certainly come into life, creating a breakthrough.
The desire for change is gradually realized through the determination and concrete actions of each Party cell, each cadre, and the consensus of the people. When the three breakthroughs become the driving force, when the Party's will is in harmony with the people's will, Muong La will certainly create clear changes and grow strongly.
