According to NBC News, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the US military carried out three attacks on four vessels accused of drug trafficking in the Eastern Pacific on October 27.
"The airstrikes eliminated 14 'narco-terrorists' and one survived," Mr. Hegseth said in a statement on the X network.

Minister Hegseth added that these boats were "operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations (DTOs) for drug trafficking in the Eastern Pacific" and "our intelligence agencies have information about them".
Minister Hegseth also posted a video in the article, showing ships on the water being hit by missiles and on fire.

At a press conference on October 28, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum spoke out against US airstrikes.
"We want all international treaties to be respected. We do not agree with such attacks. I propose, within the framework of the security agreement we have with the United States, to recall the ambassador and review the situation," President Sheinbaum said.
According to official estimates from the US Department of Defense, the US military has so far conducted 13 airstrikes against suspected drug vessels, three of which took place on October 27, killing a total of 57 people. Eight attacks took place in the Caribbean and five in the Eastern Pacific.
