At a press conference on October 28, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum spoke out against US airstrikes.

"We want all international treaties to be respected. We do not agree with such attacks. I propose, within the framework of the security agreement we have with the United States, to recall the ambassador and review the situation," President Sheinbaum said.

According to official estimates from the US Department of Defense, the US military has so far conducted 13 airstrikes against suspected drug vessels, three of which took place on October 27, killing a total of 57 people. Eight attacks took place in the Caribbean and five in the Eastern Pacific.
