In 2025, Vinh Phuc strives for an economic growth rate of 8-9%

Kinhtedothi - On the afternoon of December 27, the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc province held a regular press conference for the fourth quarter of 2024, providing information on the socio -economic situation in 2024 and development orientations for 2025.

Average income per capita in 2024 increased by 11.3 million VND/year compared to 2023

At the press conference, Mr. Pham Quang Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, said that Vinh Phuc province has gradually overcome difficulties, with economic growth in each quarter higher than the previous quarter. The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 7.52% for the whole year compared to 2023, higher than the average growth rate of the whole country (6.8-7%), achieving the set target (increasing from 7.5-8.5%).

Vinh Phuc's GRDP scale at current prices is about 173.14 trillion VND, an increase of 15.66 trillion VND, equivalent to an increase of 10% compared to 2023. The average GRDP value per capita is estimated at 141.3 million VND/person/year, an increase of 8.7% (equivalent to an increase of about 11.3 million VND) compared to 2023.

“Regarding industrial production, from the second quarter up to now, production and business activities have tended to be more positive, contributing to the province's industrial sector achieving a fairly good growth rate compared to the same period in 2023. The industrial production index (IIP) for the whole year increased by 11.43% compared to 2023, of which the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 11.56%.

The production output of some major industrial products of Vinh Phuc all increased, with some products increasing very high compared to 2023 such as: laptops increased by 53%; animal feed increased by 19.9%; tiles increased by 15.68%; motorbikes increased by 7.88%. Some products had a decrease in production output compared to the previous year such as: cars decreased by 1.54%; mobile phones decreased by 3.72% and all kinds of clothes decreased by 2.49% compared to 2023" - Mr. Pham Quang Thang said.

Trade and services have recovered well.

The province's agricultural, forestry and fishery production continues to be stable, and the epidemic situation in livestock and poultry is well controlled. The total annual tree planting area is estimated at 84.14 thousand hectares, reaching 100.7% of the plan. Tree planting and afforestation work continues to receive attention. In 2024, the whole province will plant 602 hectares of concentrated forests.

The fields of trade, services, transportation, tourism , import and export in the province have recovered well, meeting the living needs of the people in the area. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in 2024 is estimated at VND 80,594 billion, an increase of 10.8% compared to 2023.

Import-export activities in the area have developed quite well, with total export turnover estimated at 17.57 billion USD, up 7.89%, import turnover estimated at 18.56 billion USD, up 20.1%; revenue from transportation, warehousing and support services reached 8.41 trillion VND, up 23.6% compared to 2023;

The number of visitors to the province reached 10.5 million, up 13% compared to 2023 and total revenue is estimated at 4 trillion VND, up 10.8% compared to 2023. Banking and credit activities well met the capital needs of the economy, with an estimated total mobilized capital of 142.6 trillion VND for the whole year, up 12.98%, and outstanding loans estimated at 143.5 trillion VND, up 12% compared to the end of 2023.

By 2025, strive for an economic growth rate of 8-9%

At the end of the press conference, Mr. Phan The Huy, Chief of Office of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee, said that 2025 - a year of special importance for Vinh Phuc province - is the final year of implementing the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021 - 2025 and the year of holding Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress.

“In the context of the world economy and the domestic economy still facing many difficulties and challenges, in 2025, the province sets specific targets for a number of key socio-economic indicators: economic growth rate from 8-9; total budget revenue strives to reach 27,026 billion VND, of which domestic revenue is 22,026 billion VND; attracting investment of 600 million USD in FDI capital and 3,000 billion VND in DDI capital; the poverty rate is about 0.3%; the rate of trained workers strives to reach 82%...” - Mr. Phan The Huy shared.

To achieve the socio-economic development goals in 2025, Vinh Phuc will synchronously deploy the mechanisms and policies of the Central and the province to unleash resources, especially new driving forces to boost production and business, promote growth, and ensure major balances of the economy.

Comprehensive development of culture, society, education, health, labor, employment, and insurance. Strictly manage resources and protect the environment, proactively prevent and combat natural disasters, and respond to climate change.

Continue to strengthen the prevention and fight against corruption, negativity and waste; effectively carry out the work of reorganizing the organization, apparatus and administrative units at the commune level; reorganize administrative agencies towards streamlining, compactness, effective and efficient operation according to the direction of competent authorities and promote administrative reform, especially reform of administrative procedures.
