On a Korean Air flight from Bangkok (Thailand) to Seoul (South Korea), a foreign passenger caused a ruckus by demanding to sit near the flight attendant's emergency exit.

According to Korean Air, on flight KE658 departing from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand on November 7 and landing at Incheon International Airport at around 4:45 a.m. the same day, a foreign male passenger named A caused trouble on the flight.

Videos and images of the incident were also posted on various social networking sites. Passengers were quite confused and scared when this man stood near the emergency exit in an agitated state and seemed to intend to open the door.

Regarding the incident, Korean Air said that the reason was because Mr. A sat in the crew seat near the emergency exit while the plane was in operation without permission. As soon as this was discovered, the flight attendants asked the man to return to his seat, but he refused, went to the emergency exit, shouted and threatened the flight attendants.

The flight attendants repeatedly warned that this was a violation of the Aviation Security Law. Finally, under the captain's direction, the flight attendants restrained Mr. A and moved him to a space separate from the other passengers, where he was calmed down.

There were 238 passengers on board the flight and it landed in Seoul without any problems. Immediately after landing, the passenger was handed over to the Incheon International Airport Police and an investigation was launched.

“We will take strong action if there is any illegal action that reduces the safety of aircraft operations,” a Korean Air official said.
