Getting a score of 10 in the 10th grade specialized exam was already impressive, but Nhat Minh was even more excellent when he did it in the specialized Math exam. The result was so impressive that many people commented that he was a "super expert".
With 9 Math points in the qualifying round, Nhat Minh has a total score of 29, nearly 10 points higher than the standard score for the Math block of the High School for Natural Sciences in 2025 (standard score is 19.5).

Nhat Minh said he was very surprised. "After the exam, even though I did everything, I still thought I might lose a little bit in some small points, but I never got a perfect score ," Nhat Minh shared.
The thing that the male student regretted most in the entrance exam for grade 10 specialized in Natural Sciences was not being able to completely solve the Math exam in the conditional round.
"On the first round of the exam, in the last geometry and combination questions, I was only able to generate initial ideas but not fully solve them. However, I found the problems interesting, so when I got home, I spent more time thinking about them and finally solved them, so I feel very sorry for not being able to solve them right away in the exam room," Minh shared.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho, Nhat Minh's mother, shared that she was very happy but not too surprised with the results. "Because after the exam, Minh graded himself and said he did well. At that time, I also encouraged him that getting 10 was very happy, but if there was any mistake somewhere, it was also completely normal. Now, my husband and I are excited for our child's efforts and attempts ," Ms. Tho said.
Ms. Tho said that her son loves Math and finds it a joy to learn it. "Because he loves it, Minh doesn't seem to feel tired when learning Math. For him, learning Math is like eating every day. My husband and I just create conditions so that he can have a quiet space to study."
She and her husband also do not forbid their children from using phones or computers. In fact, Tho bought them computers and phones since 6th grade. "But Minh really does not use them to play games or do anything other than studying ," Tho said.

Nhat Minh shared that with Math, he does not study to compete with anyone, but with his own love and passion. Every day, he spends a few hours reviewing the knowledge he learned in class and finding new problems on Math forums and groups.
Before the exam, Minh usually spends 1 day to summarize the knowledge he has and the experience he has gained in taking the test so that he can do his best on the test. During the exam, Minh always tries to do the basic questions as solidly and quickly as possible, to save more time for the difficult, classified questions.
Ms. Tho said that her son is quite disciplined and often sets rules for himself. Minh is always self-disciplined and studies by himself but does not stay up too late to study. “No matter what he studies, he will go to bed by 11pm at the latest to prepare best for the next morning.
Nhat Minh is a special boy, very conscious, so from childhood until now, he has never had to be scolded or reminded for anything. "From childhood until now, he has never been late for school once," said Ms. Tho.
Ms. Tho commented that Nhat Minh is a very calm, mature person and is always willing to share with his friends. In class, Nhat Minh is an exemplary, responsible but always modest deputy class monitor. Last summer, Nhat Minh also initiated opening a class to review for students in the class who wish to take the Math exam.
Mr. Vo Quoc Ba Can, the math teacher who taught Nhat Minh, commented that the male student was very hard-working, serious, and careful.
"Minh especially likes to do difficult exercises and thinks hard. Many students get discouraged when they encounter difficult exercises, but Minh can spend a lot of time thinking about difficult exercises. Minh also has a very good ability to absorb information. Many times, after I finished teaching the theory, he could practice quite a bit, and when I added the practice part, he could do a lot of exercises, except for a few very difficult ones. He also has a very good ability to self-study," the teacher said.

Up to now, Nhat Minh has won many awards and medals in Mathematics. His collection includes about 50 medals and awards of all kinds. In 8th grade, Nhat Minh "skipped the level" to compete in the city-level excellent student competition in Mathematics and won second prize. This year in 9th grade, Nhat Minh won first prize in the city-level excellent student competition in Mathematics.
In addition to studying, Nhat Minh also regularly plays badminton and actively participates in class activities.
During this time, Nhat Minh is still waiting for the results of the entrance exam for the 10th grade at the National University of Education's High School for the Gifted and the exam organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. However, the male student is still more interested in the Math major at the National University of Education's High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences or the National University of Education's High School for the Gifted if they both pass.
