Duy Phong shared that he woke up at 6 a.m. this morning to wait to check his exam results. When he saw the results, he "shouted loudly" because he was so happy.
In the A00 subject combination, Duy Phong scored 10 points in Mathematics, 10 points in Physics, and 10 points in Chemistry. With these scores, Duy Phong became one of the 8 top scorers in the A00 group and aims to be admitted to Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
According to the male student, this year's exam was quite difficult, but it effectively differentiated students. Especially in Mathematics, the difficulty level was higher than last year, requiring candidates to concentrate intensely to complete it. In particular, the questions relating to real-world situations required careful reading to avoid misunderstanding the instructions.

To prepare for university admission this year, Duy Phong participated in the aptitude and thinking skills assessment exams. He became the top scorer in the Hanoi National University's aptitude assessment exam (HSA) with a score of 130/150, so he entered the high school graduation exam with confidence and without the pressure of high scores.
The male student's study method involves focusing on mastering the basic knowledge taught in class, then practicing different types of exercises for each topic. Every evening, he spends about 3 hours practicing exam questions and allocates his time appropriately across all subjects.
Especially with this year's math exam, which includes difficult and new sections like true/false and fill-in-the-blank questions, it's crucial to dedicate ample time to studying thoroughly and practicing with sample questions. With a solid foundation of knowledge, I feel confident in applying it to solve challenging questions.
For the first time, a 'village' school has a double valedictorian.
Speaking to a reporter from Tien Phong newspaper , Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong, Principal of Chuong My A High School, said that this is the first year the school has had a top scorer in the High School Graduation Exam, so they are very happy.
"Duy Phong is an excellent student in all subjects from junior high school, with Chemistry being his strongest subject," according to Mr. Truong.
Upon entering high school, he demonstrated strong self-study abilities, primarily focusing on school studies with additional guidance from subject teachers. He also won awards for the school in district and city-level academic competitions.
In particular, Mr. Truong and the other teachers are proud because this year Phong not only achieved the top score in the A00 group with a perfect score, but he was also the top scorer in the National University of Hanoi's High School for the Gifted (HSA) aptitude test.
During the learning process, teachers discover that students have outstanding abilities, so in addition to teaching foundational knowledge, they often assign advanced exercises to help them fully develop their potential.
"Since February 2025, when Circular 29, which strengthens the management of extracurricular tutoring, was implemented, Phong and his friends formed a group to share and support each other's studies. And this student has been a great help to his classmates throughout the learning process," Mr. Truong shared.
On the morning of July 16th, the Department of Education and Training announced that, after the exam results were released, Hanoi had 3 valedictorians in the A00, A1, and D00 subject groups. Among them, 2 valedictorians were in the A00 group with a perfect score of 30/30, meaning the candidates achieved a score of 10 in all subjects within the group.
In particular, candidate Nguyen Duy Phong, a student in class 12A5 of Chuong My A High School, one of the "village" schools that annually has entrance exam scores for 10th grade not among the top-ranked, has had students achieve excellent results in the high school graduation exam.
