Early morning of June 9, at the 10th grade exam site of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, among the stream of candidates entering the exam day, there was a quiet but moving image for many people.

A male student who came to take the exam brought his little sister and asked the volunteers to look after her before quietly entering the exam room. The reason the male student shared was because the mother of the two siblings had gone to work and had not returned yet. After the older brother entered the exam room, the little sister was taken care of by the surrounding parents and given breakfast. Later, the mother of the two siblings also rode her bicycle to the exam location.

Not noisy, not ostentatious, just an older brother with love and responsibility beyond his age. Amidst the tense atmosphere of the transfer exam, the story of the two brothers made many people feel warm and admired.

Some people could not hide their emotions when expressing that "exam season is not only about pressure but also love".

Many people who saw the photos and knew the story admired him, even jokingly saying that this was "the male student who worked the hardest during the exam".

"This is truly an exemplary older brother", "What a great older brother", "That's how an older brother is, busy with exams but still can't forget you",... are the continuous comments for the student along with countless wishes for him to be admitted to his dream school.

Through VietNamNet 's investigation, this male student is Nguyen Manh Duc, a 9A3 student at Dich Vong Hau Secondary School (Cau Giay District), taking the entrance exam for the IT specialized class.

Manh Duc's little sister was kindly helped to eat breakfast by the surrounding parents.

Sharing with VietNamNet , Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, Principal of Dich Vong Hau Secondary School, said that in fact, not only for today's specialized exam, but also for the two non-specialized public exams on June 7 and 8, Duc had to bring his younger sister along because his mother was working a shift and could not return in time. "Usually, on days when his mother had to go to work early, Duc had to take care of his sister before going to school or taking the exam," Ms. Loan said.

Ms. Loan said that Duc's case is very special. Born in 2006, but due to family events, Duc had to stop studying in the middle of the first semester of grade 8. Later, when Duc returned to school, he was a student who had to study 2 general education programs. "Therefore, when I first accepted Duc back to school, I was very worried because I was afraid that he would not be able to follow the completely new program. But after studying, Duc was very diligent, hard-working, and diligent. Even when other students were playing, he studied," Ms. Loan said.

Despite the difficulties, Ms. Loan said that Duc is a very good student, achieving excellent results in both grades 8 and 9. Especially in grade 9, Duc excelled. Even in the mid-term exam of grade 9, Duc's total score in Math, Literature, and English was the highest in the grade. He is also a member of the school's Math team.

According to Ms. Loan, it is known that in the recent 10th grade entrance exam, Duc did very well, especially in Math.

“You have shown that your bravery comes not only from your grades, but also from the way you face your circumstances, with initiative, kindness and love,” Ms. Loan shared.

“Nguyen Manh Duc – a student who is not only talented, but also thoughtful and kind. Thank you – for reminding us that maturity is when we know how to care for others, even when we are struggling for our own dreams,” wrote the Facebook page of Dich Vong Hau Secondary School.

In this year's admission season, the male student registered his first choice at Yen Hoa High School, along with his wish to enter the IT specialized class at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted.
