Improving the capacity to exploit database systems and apply AI to education management

(CPV) - Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son hopes that with the advantage of being one of the units with a large and effective industry database system, each manager and specialist of the Ministry of Education and Training will apply and exploit existing data to improve the efficiency of state management.

On December 3, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a training conference on Improving the capacity to exploit database systems and apply AI to serve the work of units under the MOET.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son emphasized that we are facing a context of strongly promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation in state leadership and management. Especially recently, in the common spirit of the Party and State leaders on streamlining the organizational apparatus, the task of improving the capacity to exploit the database system is even more urgent and important.

The Ministry of Education and Training is one of the units with a large and effective industry database system. The Deputy Minister hopes that with that advantage, each manager and specialist of the Ministry of Education and Training will apply and exploit existing data to improve the efficiency of state management.

The Deputy Minister also requested that each officer needs to know how to use AI properly and exploit its full potential, and needs to act immediately to promote work efficiency in the coming time.

At the Conference, Director of the Department of Information Technology Nguyen Son Hai informed that theeducation and training database system is operated on the Internet at the access address https://csdl.moet.gov.vn (for preschool, general education and continuing education) and https://hemis.moet.gov.vn (for university education and college-level teacher training).

The database has collected information from 100% of schools (about 54,000 kindergartens and general schools) with 1.6 million records of teachers and managers; 24 million records, student learning outcomes, physical fitness...; connected with more than 17,083 schools; connected to the National Population Database (2022) to authenticate and identify more than 23 million records, enriching the National Population Database with more than 20 million citizens.

Regulations on management, updating and exploitation of education sector databases have been issued.

At the conference, experts in information technology and artificial intelligence provided training on exploiting and using databases on Preschool Education, General Education, Continuing Education, and Higher Education; training on exploiting and using the mobile digital signature function on the mobile App of the Eoffice System; understanding AI and the impact of AI in education; training on using AI tools in public service. At the same time, they answered questions about software and tools, helping each officer of the Ministry of Education and Training understand and better apply information technology and digital transformation in education.../.
