At the Conference, delegates listened to the reporters of the National Border Committee (Western Land Border Division, Division of Delimitation and Maritime Cooperation) and the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard Command disseminate the following contents: (i) overview of the Vietnam-Laos land border and the border between Quang Binh province and Khammouan and Savannakhet provinces (Laos); (ii) the situation in the East Sea, overview of the sea border area of Quang Binh province; (iii) the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on land borders and islands; (iv) responsibilities and obligations of individuals and organizations in participating in protecting national territorial sovereignty on land and at sea, (v) results of Vietnam-Laos border work and maritime cooperation in the past as well as directions and tasks of land and sea border work in the current period.

The conference aims to help delegates grasp knowledge about land border management and the role and strategic position of seas and islands, common knowledge necessary for people when sticking to the sea and borders, creating high consensus in awareness, thereby promoting the combined strength of the people, especially village elders, village chiefs, and fishermen in the work of managing and protecting borders, border markers, protecting sea and island sovereignty, contributing to building stable, peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing land border areas and sea areas.
