Sharing on his personal page on the evening of August 19, Isak admitted that he was doing everything he could to leave Newcastle because "trust was lost".
However, the club immediately posted an article confirming that Isak is not allowed to leave this summer. Newcastle also left the door open to welcome the Swedish striker back to the squad.

In an attempt to force a move to Liverpool, Isak failed to join the squad for pre-season and missed the first round of the Premier League.
In a public post shared yesterday, Alexander Isak wrote: "I am proud to have a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season 2024/25.
Firstly, I would like to thank my team-mates and everyone at Newcastle for their support along the way. With everything that has happened, I don’t feel right being here tonight.
I have been silent for a long time and others have spoken. Promises have been made and the club knows my position. It is wrong to act as if this is a new problem.
When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship cannot continue. Change is probably good for all parties, not just me."
Hours later, Newcastle posted a response: "We are extremely disappointed to have been alerted to a social media post by Alexander Isak.
To be clear, Isak is still under contract and there has been no commitment from the club that he can leave Newcastle this summer.
We want to keep the best players, but the club also understands that each player has his own wishes and will listen to their opinions.

As explained to Isak and his agent, Newcastle always consider the best interests of the club and the fans.
We have also made it clear that the conditions for a transfer this summer have not yet been met. Newcastle do not feel that those conditions can be met.
Isak is a member of the club and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his team-mates."
British media said the reason Isak rebelled was because the promise of a salary increase by former Newcastle bosses Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi was shelved.
Newcastle's new sporting director Paul Mitchell has postponed contract extension talks with Isak, as his current contract has four years remaining and he is earning £130,000 a week.
