Neymar has had a relapse of his injury recently.

The former Real Madrid and Arsenal player stressed that Neymar is still the best player in the Brazilian national team: "Neymar is capable of participating in the World Cup. He is the best player in the national team, so we need to find a solution to use him."

Last week, Santos confirmed that Neymar would be out for four to six weeks. He suffered a pain in his left thigh during the 2-0 win over Atletico Mineiro. Tests later revealed that Neymar had suffered a new injury to his calf muscle, raising concerns that Neymar is no longer fit to play at the highest level.

However, Baptista remains optimistic: "He can play in the upcoming World Cup. I believe he can win a title for Brazil. I hope he can create something big for Brazil. Neymar is talented enough to do that."

Having joined Santos at the end of January, Neymar managed to play 7 matches, playing a total of 508 minutes, scoring 3 goals and adding 3 assists. Initial statistics show that Neymar has maintained his passion for playing football, but physical problems once again threaten the player's revival.

Since the start of the 2025 Brazilian National Championship, Neymar has only played 2 matches for Santos, without scoring or assisting. Santos has only had 1 victory after the first 4 rounds. After an impressive period at the beginning of the year, Neymar has shown signs of decline recently due to injuries and physical problems.
