The Ukrainian Air Force said its air defenses shot down 26 Iranian-made Shahed aircraft operated by the Russian military. In Odesa, 22 aircraft were shot down and two hit an administrative building at the city’s port, according to the local governor.
A grain warehouse and a station near the port of Odesa caught fire, but the fires were quickly extinguished and did not result in any “serious damage” or casualties, Governor Oleh Kiper said on Instagram.
The Ukrainian military said all of the drones used in the attack were shot down, but debris damaged several homes in the area.
“This is the second time the enemy has attacked Kyiv this month,” Serhiy Popko, a senior officer in the Kyiv government’s military operations, said on his Telegram channel.
Reuters witnesses in Ukraine's capital city said they heard explosions similar to those heard when air defense systems intercepted targets during the air strike.
Twelve households and one high-rise building in the area suffered minor damage from debris, according to Ruslan Kravchenko, a senior military official in the Kyiv region.
No casualties have been reported at this time.

The NATO summit in Vilnius, which opens on Tuesday, will focus on the aftermath of Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine. Leaders at the summit are expected to approve a comprehensive NATO plan to defend against attacks from Moscow for the first time since the end of the Cold War.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has just entered its 503rd day and shows no signs of stopping, killing thousands of people, displacing millions, and destroying many cities in eastern and southern Ukraine.
