According to statistics from authorities, about 60% of first-time drug users are between the ages of 15 and 25. In addition to traditional drugs, many new generation drugs with high toxicity are being disguised as "happy water", milk tea, food, drinks and electronic cigarettes, to attract the curiosity of young people.

Among the users of synthetic drugs, 70-75% are between the ages of 17-35, many of whom are students. Drugs are destroying people's physical, mental, moral and personality.

When a young person gets involved in drugs, not only is their future ruined, but their family and society also suffer many consequences. Many young people, due to lack of knowledge of the law, being lured, or wanting to “try it out”, have pushed themselves into the path of addiction. Drug abuse also leads to other crimes such as theft, robbery, illegal trafficking of addictive substances, etc.

To protect the younger generation from the dangers of drugs, together with other functional sectors, the police force has been implementing many measures to prevent and repel drugs with the motto "preventing supply, reducing demand, and reducing the harmful effects of drugs".

Strengthen the work of grasping the situation, promptly detecting and preventing conditional business establishments (bars, pubs, karaoke...) from assisting criminals in trafficking, storing and illegally using drugs; strictly handle acts of enticing young people to use and organizing illegal use of drugs.

At the same time, the authorities have stepped up propaganda work on drug prevention and control with content, forms and measures suitable for young people, teenagers, pupils and students. Focusing on applying 4.0 technology, the internet and social networks in propaganda work...

Responding to the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the Provincial Police Youth Union coordinated with Youth Unions at all levels to propagate the Law on Prevention and Control of Drug Harm at agencies, units and schools in the area.

Teacher Lai Van Hoang, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Center for VocationalEducation - Continuing Education of Tam Duong district shared: At the live propaganda sessions, the police force conveyed information about the situation of drug crimes and social evils in the province; the harmful effects of drugs and stimulants on human health and social life; and the causes of drug addiction.

Instruct members to recognize common types of drugs and addictive pharmaceutical drugs; symptoms and manifestations of drug addicts. Strengthen the role of family and society in educating children and relatives to stay away from social evils and drugs; promote propaganda and education management for children, especially young people, to say no to drugs...

Through propaganda work, union members and young people have improved their knowledge and understanding of the harmful effects of drugs on themselves, their families and society, thereby saying no to drugs. Each student actively fights against drugs and drug crimes, contributing with the school to well implement the goal of comprehensive education and training, building a healthy and safe living environment...

To protect the younger generation from drug abuse, the family, school and society need to work together. The family is the place to educate children about the harmful effects of drugs, care about their psychological life and give them the right direction.

The Youth Union regularly organizes many activities and useful playgrounds for young people to participate in and propagates the dangers of drugs, creating a healthy playground for them. The school enhances life skills education and organizes healthy activities to help students stay away from temptations.

Many schools in the province have now integrated knowledge about the harmful effects of drugs into the subjects of Civic Education, Biology or National Defense Education. Secondary schools, high schools, vocational training institutions organize extracurricular activities, invite police forces, doctors to talk about the harmful effects of drugs and the consequences of drug use... Thereby, creating a positive learning environment, building sports and arts clubs so that students have a healthy playground...

To stay away from the dangers of drugs, each young person needs to equip himself with knowledge, know how to say “no” to drugs, live with ideals, goals and aspirations to rise up. A healthy, active and enthusiastic young generation will be a solid foundation for the country’s development in the future…
