Preventing the harmful effects of electronic cigarettes and heated tobacco products

Accordingly, departments, branches, agencies, and units coordinate with the Department of Health to increase the dissemination of information about the harmful effects of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products to civil servants, public employees, workers at agencies, units, and people.

The Department of Health shall preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities, within its authority, to promptly issue or advise on the issuance of regulations to prevent the use of these products in agencies, offices,educational and training establishments; strengthen inspection activities and strictly handle cases of buying, selling and using electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco products and shisha in the province.

In addition to continuing to propagate the harmful effects of using regular cigarettes, relevant agencies, units and localities need to promptly disseminate information and the harmful effects of electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco products and shisha to officials, civil servants, workers, students and the public.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Health to guide educational institutions in the area to strengthen propaganda and dissemination of the harmful effects of using e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products, and shisha to students, staff, and teachers; strengthen inspection, supervision, and timely prevention of the use of e-cigarettes in educational institutions.

The Department of Industry and Trade, the Provincial Market Management Department and relevant agencies shall strengthen inspection and strictly handle cases of buying, selling and trading electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco products and shisha, because these products are currently not allowed to be imported, traded and circulated in Vietnam.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Information and Communications, Tay Ninh Newspaper, Tay Ninh Radio and Television to coordinate with the Department of Health to strengthen propaganda about the harmful effects of regular cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, and heated tobacco products to civil servants, public employees, workers at agencies, units, and people in the province.
