Opening the program, Mr. Dang Van Ninh - former Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, former Political Commissar of the Hoang Le Kha Youth Volunteer Company, Tay Ninh (C2311) shared heroic memories during the years of directly participating in the resistance war, fighting side by side with comrades for independence and freedom for the nation.
60 years ago, in the fierce war, enemy bombs and bullets trampled the homeland, young men and women in their twenties volunteered to go to the battlefield at the call of the Fatherland. They established the Hoang Le Kha Youth Volunteer Company, Tay Ninh, codename C2311, carrying with them the pride and indomitable spirit of loyal and brave soldiers, a symbol of loyalty and iron will of the homeland.
When it was first established, C2311 had 140 soldiers, two-thirds of whom were young women. The Company Command was initially led by comrade Nguyen Trung Truc, a soldier who had gathered from the North, as Company Commander, and comrade Dang Van Ninh, Secretary of the Go Dau District Youth Union, as Political Commissar.
During nearly a decade of continuous fighting and serving on many fierce fronts, from Tay Ninh, Binh Long ( Binh Phuoc ), Bien Hoa, Long Khanh (Dong Nai) to Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the members of Company C2311 overcame countless difficulties and dangers that seemed insurmountable. They directly transported ammunition, cleared the way for the advance, transferred the wounded, fought to protect their comrades and contributed significantly to the resounding victories in the nation's long resistance war.
During those fierce days, there were countless young men and women who devoted their youth to the motherland, many of whom suffered lifelong disabilities, but with the spirit of "Where there is a need, there is youth; where there is difficulty, there is youth", they became the guiding light, lighting up the ideals and national pride in the hearts of today's and future generations.
After the country was reunified, the young men and women of Company C2311 returned to normal life, with the spirit of volunteering to build their homeland: participating in Party and mass organizations, developing the economy, raising children, and living exemplary lives. It can be said that generations of members of the Hoang Le Kha Youth Volunteer Company have written a beautiful and valuable page in the history of struggle and development of their home province.
Recalling those difficult years, comrade Dang Van Ninh was moved, and the historical witnesses below the stage also shed tears when recalling. He exclaimed: “We are lucky to still be sitting here, enjoying 50 years of peace for the nation. But many of our comrades have fallen, unable to see the country, the mountains and rivers unified as one. That is the infinite pity of those who remain.”
Sending a message to today's young generation, Mr. Dang Van Ninh emphasized: "You, the ladies and gentlemen of that time, were also young men and women of sixteen or twenty years old, at that time your knowledge was still immature, only your fighting spirit was extremely strong. Today, our country has changed dramatically, with remarkable development, but still has many weaknesses compared to many countries in the world.
To preserve peace and develop the country, he hopes that today's young generation must strive to study, cultivate knowledge, train their bodies to be strong, nurture ardent patriotism, have noble ideals, and aspire to build an increasingly rich and beautiful country.
With great contributions in the resistance war against America, on January 30, 2011, the Hoang Le Kha Tay Ninh Youth Volunteer Company was honored to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the President.
Listening to the emotional and profound speech of comrade Dang Van Ninh recalling the tradition, Mr. Pham Hung Thai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee expressed his understanding of the great sacrifice and noble ideals of the Youth Volunteer Force of Hoang Le Kha, Tay Ninh. The profound sharing of the former Youth Volunteer Force comrades is a profound reminder of the responsibility of today's young generation - the future owners of the country - in continuing and promoting the noble values that their fathers and brothers worked hard to build.
Nguyen Thi Kieu Tien - member of the Youth Union of Tay Ninh Radio and Television Station, representative of Tay Ninh youth shared that she was truly moved and proud to hear the stories full of hardship but very heroic that the uncles and aunts of the Youth Volunteers of Company C2311 had gone through.
These are not only vivid pages of history but also clear evidence of the patriotism, courage and indomitable will of a generation that did not hesitate to sacrifice blood and bones to protect the Fatherland, to regain independence and freedom for the nation. These stories make you and other members of the Youth Union and young people appreciate the value of peace today even more.
The young generation of Tay Ninh today will always remember the merits and follow the example of the previous generation; will live a worthy life, live with ideals and responsibilities, constantly study, cultivate, practice, work creatively, unite and contribute to building the homeland; to be worthy of the great sacrifices that you have devoted so that future generations can live in peace.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association awarded the Vietnam Veterans Association medal to individuals who have contributed to the movement and development of the Vietnam Veterans Association since its establishment.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Tay Ninh province presented gifts to members of the Hoang Le Kha Youth Volunteer Company, Tay Ninh, expressing deep gratitude for the great contributions of generations of Youth Volunteers.
