After the merger, the Dak Lak Post Office 's mail network will have nearly 300 service points, 299 inter-provincial and intra-provincial mail routes and more than 500 postmen, responsible for nearly 20,000 postal items delivered per day. Therefore, standardizing the service point network is the top priority of the postal industry when there is a change in administrative boundaries. Since the beginning of June 2025, Dak Lak Provincial Post Office and Phu Yen Provincial Post Office have prepared for this change, ensuring the standardization of the network when merging administrative boundaries, with the goal of not interrupting service provision and always being ready to support people in the best way.

Accordingly, the Provincial Post Office has actively reviewed and completed the review of the service point network from the old commune to the new commune. This ensures that on each postal item, both the old and new addresses will be displayed in parallel during the initial merger phase, avoiding service interruptions or confusion for customers.
In addition, a new address lookup support tool has been built. This tool not only serves individual customers when they come to do transactions at post offices but also effectively supports large customers, traditional enterprises and e-commerce in the work of placing orders and delivering. The flexibility in providing information helps people easily identify the correct address, saving time and ensuring that postal items are delivered on time.
Similarly, the review of delivery routes was also carried out carefully. Adjusting the delivery routes accordingly ensured that after the merger, the postal service and delivery quality were maintained at the highest level, without causing significant disruption to both staff and customers.
Mr. Truong Van Thanh, Director of Buon Ma Thuot City Post Office, informed that the City Post Office currently has 17 transaction points with 46 officers and employees. Recently, the unit has proactively developed a production plan according to the new administrative boundaries; reviewed and updated the locations of post offices, adjusted the delivery route directory and had a plan to arrange staff in accordance with the administrative scope after the merger. "We are ready to deploy new tools and processes to ensure that all transactions of people and businesses in the area take place most smoothly," Mr. Thanh emphasized.
Along with regular services, before the important changes in administrative boundary mergers, the postal sector pays special attention and gives top priority to KT1 postal service. This is a specialized service, ensuring absolute confidentiality, speed and accuracy for the delivery of important documents, official dispatches, and administrative records of party and state agencies. Dak Lak Provincial Post Office and Phu Yen Provincial Post Office have quickly coordinated closely and developed a detailed plan to ensure the safe and effective delivery of KT1 postal items.
Post office staff instructed people to write down their new and old addresses at the same time to facilitate delivery during the initial stages of the merger. |
The plan focuses on maintaining the continuity and timeliness of important information and documents. Accordingly, all KT1 mail is strictly controlled from the stage of receiving, transporting until it is delivered to the recipient. In particular, with Dak Lak province (new) having up to 102 wards and communes, the task of transporting mail from the provincial center to each commune-level administrative unit is given top priority. Routes, schedules and handover procedures are all carefully reviewed to ensure that mail arrives safely and on time as required by party and state agencies.
In particular, in the context of promoting administrative reform, the postal sector has become an extended arm, contributing to simplifying procedures, saving time and costs for people and businesses. Recognizing the increasingly important role in public administrative services, the Provincial Post Office has developed a plan for labor arrangement and organized formal training for 204 personnel (136 personnel in Dak Lak, 68 personnel in Phu Yen ). These personnel are trained to meet standards to directly participate in guiding and supporting people and businesses in carrying out administrative procedures at the public administrative service centers at the commune and ward levels after the merger.
Director of Dak Lak Provincial Post Office Nguyen Anh Dung said that, promoting the experience from serving at Dak Lak Provincial Public Administration Service Center, Buon Ma Thuot City Reception and Result Delivery Department, public administration reception and result delivery points at the Immigration Management Department, Traffic Police Department, etc., the postal sector is confident that it will continue to perform well at the commune and ward public administration service centers after the merger. Therefore, the postal sector hopes to receive attention and favorable conditions from government leaders at all levels to be able to arrange personnel and effectively contribute to the activities at the commune and ward public administration centers in the area.
Mr. Dung also affirmed that the postal sector's proactiveness and careful preparation in updating new administrative boundaries will contribute to improving service quality, bringing maximum convenience and satisfaction to people, businesses, and state agencies in all situations.
