Thanh Hoa Electricity Industry continues the spirit of August Revolution

Along with the historical days of the nation, over the past 60 years, Ham Rong Power Plant has always been steadfast in serving the Fatherland and the People. Each electric pole, power line, and transformer station is soaked in the sweat, effort, and blood of brave people, so that today the electric lights are increasingly shining, connecting and reaching far, carrying the aspiration to develop the homeland and the country, towards a prosperous, modern future and standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers.

These days of 2025, when the whole country joyfully celebrates the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, we not only review the heroic pages of history, but also pay tribute to the people who quietly and steadfastly kept the light source amidst the rain of bombs and bullets, so that the light could light the way for the homeland to victory. In that historical flow, the story of Ham Rong Power Plant is an epic written with blood, sweat and never-ending faith.

More than 60 years ago, when the country was still engulfed in flames, Ham Rong Power Plant was born (established on April 4, 1964) not only to produce electricity but also to light up the belief in victory. This place used to be a "red target" on the enemy's bombing map, suffering nearly 8,000 bombs during the period 1965-1971. Amidst the roar of bombs and bullets, cadres and workers still clung to the machines, maintaining the electricity to serve production, combat and life. Three cadres and workers sacrificed themselves right at their work stations to protect the power source; 214 people left for the army, of which 9 never returned.

Typical examples are still remembered: Mr. Lam Van Duyen - a worker at the circulating pumping station who, despite bombs and bullets, resolutely operated the pump to supply water to the generator, was awarded the title "Brave Bridgehead". Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue - a catering staff who carried rice through the trenches to each group of workers every day, or Mr. Dinh Thiet Dang who persistently boiled water for the generator to operate amidst the bombs.

In recognition of that sacrifice and contribution, in 1966 Ham Rong Power Plant was awarded the title of Labor Hero Unit; Comrade Do Chanh - Deputy Director was honored as a Labor Hero. In 1973, worker Le Kim Hong (grade 7/7) continued to be honored with this title.

Chairman of the Board of Members of EVN Dang Hoang An presented the flag of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises to Thanh Hoa Power Company - an excellent leading unit in the emulation movement in 2024.

Coming out of the war, Thanh Hoa Electricity Company inherited the heroic tradition, persistently innovated, modernized the power grid, and brought light to all regions. The unit has been awarded many noble awards: Third-class Military Exploit Medal (1965); Third-class Military Exploit Medal (1967); Third-class Labor Medal (1967, 1991); Second-class Labor Medal (1967); First-class Labor Medal (1968, 1996); Third-class Independence Medal (2002); Second-class Independence Medal (2013); First-class Independence Medal (2019) and many other titles.

That achievement is the result of the intelligence, dedication and persistent efforts of many generations of cadres and workers, along with the leadership and support of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province, the driving force that helps the company overcome difficulties and reach new heights.

Thanh Hoa Electricity Company always pays attention to investing in a synchronous and modern power grid system.

In the context of the country recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic and up to now, the local government model has many changes, the electricity load increases during peak hours, raw material prices fluctuate strongly, the market is fiercely competitive..., under the close direction of the Northern Power Corporation and the united efforts of all employees, Thanh Hoa Power Company has overcome difficulties and successfully completed the assigned targets.

As of the first 6 months of 2025, the company is managing 31 110kV substations/49 110kV MBAs, an increase of 337MVA compared to the same period in 2024; 72 110kV lines (1,111.918 km long), 265 medium voltage lines (7,572.08 km) and 13,124km of low voltage grid. The maximum capacity (Pmax) of the whole province increased by 8.86% over the same period. Commercial electricity output reached 4,200.89 million kWh, an increase of 11.26% over the same period. Labor safety, fire prevention and fighting, natural disaster prevention and search and rescue work were effectively implemented, quickly handling incidents caused by natural disasters, ensuring stable power supply to serve political , cultural, social tasks and people's lives. Digital transformation has achieved many positive results. All mechanical meters have been replaced; the rate of customers paying without cash reached 100%. Revenue reached 8,543 billion VND, collection rate 99.98%, exceeding the plan by 0.18%. The whole company implemented 122 projects; electricity service revenue reached 60% of the yearly plan. Other areas such as finance and accounting, communications, information security, legal affairs, labor organization... were seriously implemented, contributing to the completion of the production and business tasks of the whole unit.

These numbers not only reflect production and business capacity but also show the spirit of overcoming difficulties, creativity and determination to continue the heroic tradition.

The application of science and technology helps Thanh Hoa Electricity Company achieve many achievements in production and business activities.

The development of the company is not only the industrialization and modernization process of Thanh Hoa but also a testament to the strong vitality of the August Revolution spirit.
