One of the very important tasks of Project 938 is to improve the quality of communication,education and mobilization activities for women to preserve and practice morality and legal awareness, and proactively participate in effectively solving a number of social issues related to women. Integrating in the propaganda Resolution 21-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the 6th Conference of the 12th Party Central Committee on population work in the new situation. The focus is to thoroughly grasp and seriously, synchronously and effectively implement the goals, viewpoints, tasks and solutions on population work in the new situation to improve population quality, improve reproductive health, maintain a reasonable birth rate, and effectively solve problems related to population structure and distribution.
In the period of 2022 - 2025, Lam Dong Health sector has focused on leading and directing units in the sector to organize, coordinate and integrate training, propaganda and provide information on reproductive health - family planning (RH-FP) for Women's Union members throughout the province. Propaganda content on gender imbalance at birth, early marriage, consanguineous marriage, SR-FP care, breastfeeding, pregnancy care, periodic gynecological examination, prenatal screening, newborn screening for over 15,000 women. Coordinate with Women's Unions of Lam Ha, Dam Rong, Di Linh districts to integrate training and propaganda content for 9 classes with nearly 5,000 women attending. Medical Centers of districts and cities propagated to 6,000 people and integrated propaganda on Project 938 for 4,000 women. Organized gynecological examinations for over 2,500 women; Prenatal screening for over 64,000 pregnant mothers; newborn screening for over 32,000; provision of oral contraceptives, injections, and implants for over 38,000 women. Priority is given to women living in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, and disadvantaged areas. Coordinate with central and local media agencies to disseminate the contents of Project 938 and contents on Population and Development.
The provincial health sector has actively and proactively coordinated with relevant levels and sectors to integrate and organize population propaganda, which has brought about specific practical results such as: The sex ratio at birth in Lam Dong province in the period of 2015 - 2022 decreased by an average of 0.68 points per year. In 2015, the sex ratio at birth was 112.8 boys/100 girls (1.1 points higher than the national average); by 2022, the province's sex ratio at birth was 108 boys/100 girls (equivalent to the national average).
After 7 years of implementing the Project to Control Gender Imbalance at Birth in Lam Dong Province in the period of 2016 - 2020, the province has effectively controlled the rate of increase in the sex ratio at birth in the province, each year lower than the previous year, while the national sex ratio at birth tends to increase. In 2023, the sex ratio at birth in the whole province was 107.3 boys/girls (1.15 points lower than the national level); by 2024, the sex ratio at birth in Lam Dong Province was 105.8 boys/girls (0.56 points lower than the national level). Maintaining the replacement fertility rate of 2.1 children/1 woman, ranking in the top 10 provinces maintaining fertility in the period of 2021 - 2024. The natural population growth rate is maintained at 1.0% throughout the period of 2021 - 2024.
According to Master Tran Duc Trung - Deputy Director of Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health, to achieve the results of the targets and tasks in the past time, it is thanks to the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee that have issued many plans to organize and implement in the province. At the same time, there is the coordination of departments, branches, organizations, authorities at all levels, and the active participation of the people in the province. In addition, the dynamism and enthusiasm of the medical staff and population collaborators persistently go to every alley, knock on every door, check every subject to propagate and mobilize people to effectively implement the policy of shifting from population - family planning to population and development.
To continue maintaining population and development policies, population work in the new situation, integrating propaganda, education, mobilization, and support for women to participate in solving a number of social issues related to women of Project 938, the Health sector proposes a number of tasks as follows: The Standing Committee of Lam Dong Provincial Women's Union proactively advises the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee to issue projects, plans, and directives as a basis for organizing the implementation of the tasks. The Provincial Women's Union takes the lead in coordinating with departments, branches, sectors, and organizations in the province to effectively propagate the implementation of Project 938, integrating it with population work. Women's Unions at all levels continue to coordinate with the health sector to promote propaganda about the goals, tasks and solutions of Project 938. In particular, focusing on propaganda to members, rural women, ethnic minority women, contributing to further raising awareness, promoting internal strength, and proactive role of women in solving social issues related to women and girls. Continue to improve the effectiveness of activities of Women's Unions at all levels in carrying out propaganda, education, mobilization, and support for women to participate in solving social issues related to women, contributing to solving pressing issues in related society; at the same time, clearly defining the role and responsibility of Women's Unions at all levels in coordinating the implementation of the Project in localities. Implement Project 938 by organizing emulation movements and campaigns within the Association system and promoting "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle" with specific, practical actions suitable for each subject and each type of facility...
