Last day to change 10th grade exam wishes: Very few candidates make adjustments

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, from 5:00 p.m. on May 14 to 5:00 p.m. on May 19 at the latest: Parents and students can adjust their wishes (only accept adjustments to wishes, do not add or remove candidates from the list).

No later than 4:00 p.m. on May 22: The Department of Education and Training receives data with registration numbers and exam rooms from the Department of Testing andEducation Quality Assessment. The Department of Education and Training prints the exam list, exam collection form and distributes registration forms to candidates.

From May 23 to 5:00 p.m. on May 27 at the latest: The Department of Education and Training will organize an inspection of the facilities of the examination sites.

From May 22 to 5:00 p.m. May 25 at the latest: Seal the 10th grade entrance exam registration forms and send them to the Department of Education and Training.

From May 26 to 5:00 p.m. May 28 at the latest: Issue registration forms to candidates.

No later than 5:00 p.m. on June 5: Announce the list of candidates eligible for direct admission to grade 10.

June 6 and June 7: Organize the exam according to the prescribed schedule and deliver exam papers every day according to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training.

According to records from secondary schools, after the HCM City Department of Education and Training announced the number of candidates registering for the first choice exam, although the competition ratio at the top schools fluctuated a lot, very few candidates changed their 10th grade choice compared to their initial registration.

Mr. Cao Duc Khoa, Principal of Huynh Khuong Ninh Secondary School (District 1), said that similar to previous years, very few students at the school changed their wishes compared to their initial registration. According to Mr. Khoa, this year only a few students changed their wishes. "The reason is because the counseling process for the students was very carefully prepared, students correctly identified their own abilities and wishes to choose the right school," Mr. Khoa said.

Ms. Le Thi Thuy, Principal of Van Don Secondary School (District 4), said that at the school, there were no cases of students changing their 10th grade entrance exam wishes. Ms. Thuy said that every year before the 10th grade entrance exam, the school conducts a very thorough consultation process for students to register their wishes, one student at a time.

"Each 9th grade student at the school will be advised by the homeroom teacher, along with math, literature, and English teachers based on their registration wishes. Each case will then be reported to the school principal. Any case that is accepted or not will be explained. With such careful advice, almost no year has a student changed their wishes and no student has failed compared to the first wish they registered for," said Ms. Thuy.
