This is an opportunity to connect the heart of Southeast Asia right in the heart of Europe and highlight the ASEAN-EU Strategic Partnership.
The rich culinary program introduces typical specialties of each country, from nasi lemak rice, beef rendang to chicken larb and traditional desserts, served in buffet style, bringing guests a colorful taste journey.
Interspersed are homegrown performances imbued with Southeast Asian culture such as: Khmer royal court dance, sweet melodies of the angklung orchestra, graceful Laotian hoop dance and the emotional chorus "My homeland Vietnam".
Diplomats transform into professional artists, leading the audience through a colorful cultural journey that shares the same community source.
The festival also marked the presence of many local friends: Secretary General of the European Parliament 🇪🇺Alessandro Chiocchetti, Director General of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs François De Ganck, OACPS representative Stephen Kabanda, Co-Chairs of ASEANcham EU–Belgium Joses Wong and Marcus Tan, Ms. Simona Popan of the EU External Action Service (EEAS), Director General of the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS) Axel Goethals.
Family Day 2025 not only creates a warm cultural and culinary feast, but also leaves a lasting message about the connection of more than 680 million Southeast Asians with international friends; evoking the spirit of "One Vision, One Identity, One Community" right in the heart of Europe.
