The 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day: Encouraging reading habits - Lang Son Electronic Newspaper

Respond On the occasion of the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will carry out many rich and attractive activities in the Ministry's permanent agencies and units, aiming to spread the reading culture, encourage and develop the reading movement.

Children enthusiastically participate in activities of Vietnam Book Day 2023 at the National Library.

Specifically, the Ministry issued Decision 657/QD-BVHTTDL on promulgating the Plan to organize the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024.

According to the Plan, agencies and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize activities to celebrate the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024 in conjunction with specialized activities or integrated with events and political and spiritual activities of the agency or unit; hang banners and slogans to celebrate the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024 at the headquarters or communicate on the electronic news pages of the agency or unit.

The organization's content includes: Propagating the value and meaning of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day associated with developing a reading culture in the community, associated with the message: "Good books need readers", "Precious books for friends", "Give good books - Buy real books", "Good books: Eyes read - Ears listen".

Activities include propaganda Introducing books, telling stories and following books, drawing pictures from books, arranging books artistically, exchanging and discussing books and reading culture, honoring readers, creators, librarians, preserving, collecting, promoting books and contributing to the development of reading culture, organizing book introduction spaces of publishers, distribution units, signing books, donating, supporting and giving books, exchanging old books for new books, organizing reading promotion activities, instructing methods and skills of reading, developing skills of searching, exploiting and using information...

In addition, the units also organize seminars, discussions, and knowledge exchanges on reading trends, share information on how to use technology and digital platforms, etc.

The dissemination of books on cyberspace is also encouraged through organizing online book clubs, creating online book groups to discuss works through online platforms such as Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, etc.

Communication activities are also promoted so that the value and meaning of books and reading, of Vietnam Book Day and Reading Culture, can reach the general public...

The event will take place from March 16 to the end of April, with the main event being from April 15 to April 21.

In previous years, activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day held at the National Library such as book introductions, exchanges with authors, drawing competitions, book learning, book quizzes... attracted a large number of readers and children to participate.
