Gift for Vietnamese audience

This is the first time the Russian National Orchestra - the first orchestra in Russia to receive a Grammy Award, ranked by the prestigious European music magazine Gramophone as one of the 20 best orchestras in the world - has performed in Vietnam.

For two nights, the orchestra performs under the baton of Spanish conductor César Álvarez, one of the "most respected conductors today," according to the organizers.

This special concert marks the return to the capital's audience after several years of absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The musical repertoire of the two shows was slightly different.

On the first night (October 12), the orchestra will perform the Vietnamese National Anthem (arranged by musician Do Hong Quan), along with classic music, and performances by piano soloist Eva Gevorgyan.

On the second night (October 13), Eva Gevorgyan's performance was replaced by a number of ballet excerpts by principal dancers from the Bolshoi Theater.

At the press conference to inform about the program on June 27, musician Quoc Trung - the general director of the program - answered a question from Tuoi Tre Online , saying that the orchestra performed the Vietnamese National Anthem as a gift to the Vietnamese audience, showing respect for the country where the artists came to perform.

Hope to see the complete ballet from Russian artist soon

Regarding the ballet artists, musician Quoc Trung said that the Bolshoi Theater artists coming to Vietnam to perform this time are all the theater's top artists, with excellent performance abilities.

They are People's Artist Anna Nikulina and artists Alexander Volchkov, Elizaveta Kokoreva, Egor Geraschenko.

Bringing some ballet excerpts from the country of this art to Vietnam, musician Quoc Trung expressed his hope that one day Vietnamese audiences will be able to enjoy complete ballets by artists from the Bolshoi Theater.

Regarding the Russian National Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Quoc Trung said he had heard the orchestra perform online. He commented that there are few symphony orchestras in the world that have such tones.

Pianist Eva Gevorgyan, born in 2004 in Moscow, trained at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory's Central School of Music in Moscow and the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid.

She has won several awards in prestigious piano performance competitions around the world.
