Sharing at the ceremony to receive the First Class Labor Medal and celebrate the 30th anniversary of its establishment recently, Dr. Mac Quoc Anh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (HanoiSME ) , emphasized that Resolution 68 of the Politburo on private economic development has opened an institutional "runway" for the business community.

"The mission of entrepreneurs is to accelerate take-off and build the private sector to truly become the most important driving force of the economy ," Mr. Quoc Anh emphasized.

According to him, the business community welcomed Resolution 68 with enthusiasm and confidence because for the first time the Party established the private sector as the "most important driving force" of the Vietnamese economy. He also emphasized that the 4.0 industrial revolution with technologies such as AI, blockchain, big data, IoT, and additive manufacturing is redefining added value.

Vietnam has emerged as a center for software outsourcing, semiconductors, and information technology services, attracting large corporations such as Nvidia, Samsung, Foxconn, Amkor, etc. Mr. Quoc Anh believes that the opportunity to make a "shortcut" leap has never been clearer than now.

In addition, shifting the supply chain also helps Vietnam become a destination for "eagles" from Japan, the US, Europe... The FDI wave is expected to reach 40-45 billion USD/year in the period 2025 - 2030, creating a space for linking production, services, and innovation.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) also called on the business community and entrepreneurs to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, mutually beneficial cooperation, courage, intelligence, entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and creativity.

Besides, businesses also need to promote the application of scientific and technological advances in management and production and business activities to improve labor productivity.

"Enterprises need to proactively keep up with regional and international standards, improve product quality to meet regional and advanced countries' standards and regulations. Thereby, bringing products deeper into the global supply chain," Mr. Phong emphasized.

However, Mr. Mac Quoc Anh also warned that behind the positive figures are strategic issues that Vietnam must solve if it wants to rise to the group of developed countries in the near future. The risk of falling into the middle-income trap is worrying when Vietnam's labor productivity is currently only 62% of Thailand's and less than 11% of Singapore's.

At the same time, pressure from the green transition trend is increasing as major markets such as Europe and the US apply strict environmental standards, requiring Vietnamese businesses to quickly adapt or be eliminated from the international supply chain.

In that situation, according to this person, the three strategic pillars that Vietnam needs to steadfastly pursue are developing a knowledge-based economy and high-tech industry; green and sustainable development; and investing in people and cultural values.

From the above three pillars, Mr. Quoc Anh proposed forming a "sustainable development action alliance" with close coordination between the state, businesses, banks, education and people.

In this, the state plays the role of policy maker, enterprises are the implementing force, banks provide resources, institutes and experts provide advice, and people are both beneficiaries and supervisors.

"To develop inclusively, we must act on the basis of consensus and a clear strategy. This is the time for Vietnam to not only rise up, but also take the lead in new areas of the world," Mr. Mac Quoc Anh affirmed.
