In his opening speech, Dr. Nguyen The Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, emphasized that when coming to Dien Bien Phu city, tourists all want to learn about the history of the period before 1954.

Although quite late, the new discoveries surrounding the photos of the Tran Temple on A1 Hill seem to be a supplement to the above wish, with the original idea of restoring the Tran Temple on A1 Hill.

At the first scientific conference organized by the People's Committee of Dien Bien province in Dien Bien Phu city, the new construction perspective gradually replaced the original restoration perspective.

The second scientific workshop aims to continue to discuss in depth a number of issues: The authenticity of the photos of the Temple of Saint Tran on A1 hill; the possibility of finding more related documents; the custom of worshipping Gods and the custom of worshipping Saint Tran in general and in the Northern mountainous region; the necessity of building the Temple of Saint Tran; considering the Temple of Saint Tran in the space of the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield National Special Historical Relic Planning, choosing the construction location; outlining the connection of the Temple of martyrs who died in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign with the Temple of Saint Tran and neighboring relic sites; legal basis and outlining the construction plan.

According to Dr. Nguyen The Hung, in the context of Dien Bien province having positive steps of socio -economic development, it is necessary to create a common awareness of the goal of building the Tran Temple to each citizen, government and Party committees at all levels so that the construction of the temple becomes a common concern, with strong participation of the people...

Speaking at the workshop, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong emphasized that according to historical evidence, in the late 19th century - early 20th century, the people of Dien Bien (formerly Lai Chau province) built a temple - known as the Temple of Saint Tran in the central high hill area.

This hill area was once called Lang Chuong Hill by the Thai ethnic people, now it is the area of Hill A1 - Hill F - Chay Hill (according to the name of our army in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign) to worship and commemorate the great contributions of our ancestors who had contributed to protecting the country and bringing peace to the people.

Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province Nguyen Minh Phu presented a report on the results of searching and collecting information and documents related to the Temple of Saint Tran in Lang Chuong hill area, Dien Bien Phu city, with a number of documents such as: Photo of the Temple of "Saint Tran" at A1 hill; image of the row of houses built on A1 hill in 1924; French documents dated December 14, 1922; documents of the Far Eastern Institute...

The collected images and documents have reinforced the data and provided valuable historical and cultural information related to the Temple of "Saint Tran" in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province, thereby continuing to research and affirm the scientific value of the Temple's construction.

The workshop heard opinions related to the proposed construction site; scale, architecture associated with the worshiped figures; materials, interior decoration of the Tran Dynasty Temple; orientation for management and promotion of the value of the Temple...

Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru, Chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, emphasized that this workshop is suggestive and the first step for Dien Bien province to research, consider and have a roadmap to restore the temple of Saint Tran in Dien Bien Phu city.
