In his opening speech, Dr. Nguyen The Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, emphasized that when coming to Dien Bien Phu city, tourists all want to learn about the history of the period before 1954.

Speaking at the workshop, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong emphasized that according to historical evidence, in the late 19th century - early 20th century, the people of Dien Bien (formerly Lai Chau province) built a temple - known as the Temple of Saint Tran in the central high hill area.
This hill area was once called Lang Chuong Hill by the Thai ethnic people, now it is the area of Hill A1 - Hill F - Chay Hill (according to the name of our army in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign) to worship and commemorate the great contributions of our ancestors who had contributed to protecting the country and bringing peace to the people.
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province Nguyen Minh Phu presented a report on the results of searching and collecting information and documents related to the Temple of Saint Tran in Lang Chuong hill area, Dien Bien Phu city, with a number of documents such as: Photo of the Temple of "Saint Tran" at A1 hill; image of the row of houses built on A1 hill in 1924; French documents dated December 14, 1922; documents of the Far Eastern Institute...
The collected images and documents have reinforced the data and provided valuable historical and cultural information related to the Temple of "Saint Tran" in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province, thereby continuing to research and affirm the scientific value of the Temple's construction.
