Israeli media reported on June 1 that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken canceled his visit to Israel scheduled for next week amid deep disagreement between the Jewish State and the White House over Iran's nuclear dossier.
Earlier, Israeli leaders expressed deep concern about the possibility that the US was moving towards signing a new nuclear deal with Iran while ignoring the concerns of the Jewish state.
Although there has been no official announcement, public opinion in Israel has recently speculated about the possibility that Mr. Blinken will make a quick visit to Israel as part of his tour of the Middle East.
However, disagreements between the two countries over the nuclear dossier led to the cancellation of this working trip.
Earlier this year, as part of a tour of the Middle East, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Israel at a time when the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was at its most dangerous point in years, with successive outbreaks of violence in the West Bank and Jerusalem killing dozens of people.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the talks, the US Secretary of State affirmed that Washington continues to make a strong commitment to ensuring Israel's security.
During talks with his host counterpart Eli Cohen, Mr. Blinken affirmed that the US-Israel relationship "has a long historical foundation." He also called on responsible parties to reduce tensions to avoid repeating a new "cycle of violence"./.
