Realize the dream of settling down
The Union Shelter Program has been implemented for the past 19 years and has received consensus and strong support from all levels of the Union, enterprises and the whole society. In order to effectively implement the program, every year, the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) organizes a review and makes a list of union members, workers, civil servants and employees (CNVCLĐ) with housing difficulties, thereby mobilizing resources and allocating them appropriately to provide timely support to the right people and in the right circumstances.
The beneficiaries of the Trade Union Shelter are employees and workers with low incomes, families that are poor and do not have a house. In particular, the Provincial Trade Union gives priority to employees who are direct producers, have many achievements in labor and production and have been commended by all levels, have many years of work experience and actively participate in trade union activities at the unit.
Along with the support from the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund, the Trade Union at all levels proposed that the government, agencies, units and enterprises provide additional support with construction materials and labor to build and repair houses; at the same time, mobilize additional contributions from the families of the supported people.
Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor - Le Thi Thu Cuc said: "All levels of the Union have identified this as a key program in caring for the lives of union members and workers. Settling down is a prerequisite for stabilizing life and developing careers, so supporting a warm home is not only about building houses but also giving them confidence and motivation to live."
From the Trade Union Shelters, union members and workers have more motivation to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, work with peace of mind, and continue to contribute to businesses and society.
Since its establishment, the Long An Branch of the Golden Heart Charity Fund has mobilized more than 57.5 billion VND to build and repair 1,070 houses of the Community Shelter with a total amount of more than 41.8 billion VND. Thanks to that, many dreams of settling down have been realized.

Each house handed over is also an opportunity to arouse the spirit of solidarity and "mutual love" in the community. To this day, Mr. Dang Tuan Kiet - a member of the grassroots trade union in Thuan Nghia Hoa commune, Thanh Hoa district, still cannot forget the moment when the trade union organization presented him with a house called Mai Am Dong. Many years ago, Mr. Kiet's family lived in a dilapidated level 4 house. With a tight economy , Mr. Kiet did not dare to dream of a spacious house for his wife and children.
Then a ray of hope appeared when he was considered for support to build a house from the Community Shelter program. On the day the house was completed and handed over in the presence of relatives, colleagues and local authorities, Mr. Kiet was choked up and speechless. From having to depend on his parents' house, his small family now has their own, stable place to live. The new home not only helps him and his wife settle down but also motivates him to work with peace of mind and take care of his children's future. "I am truly grateful to the Community Shelter organization for helping my family change their lives. This house has been a dream for many years," Mr. Kiet emotionally shared.

Last April, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tu - a member of the Trade Union of Dai Luc Packaging Joint Stock Company (Loi Binh Nhon Commune, Tan An City, Long An Province), received the Trade Union Shelter in joy and happiness. The house has a construction area of 61.6 square meters; reinforced concrete foundation and columns; walls; corrugated iron roof, cement floor. The construction cost was 90 million VND, of which, Long An Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. sponsored 80 million VND through the Golden Heart Charitable Social Fund Branch in Long An, the rest was contributed by family and relatives, including working days.
For Mr. Tu, this is not only a new house but also a major turning point in his life. The worry of "settling down" for so long has been lifted, giving way to new confidence and motivation. Now, with a solid home, Mr. Tu can work with peace of mind and stabilize his life.
